Apple has recognized the ongoing needs of its iCloud users using alternative desktop operating systems. The Cupertino based company has officially released an updated version of iCloud Control Panel offering Windows 8.1 support and taking the software to v3.1. Microsoft's latest update to Windows has been with us since the middle of October, bringing with it a number of important aesthetic and functionality based changes and improvements. Apple's latest launch of its updated iCloud Control Panel signifies the company's commitment to those who prefer to use Windows over its own OS X powered Macs.

We're now firmly into that time of year where people start panicking about what they should be buying for their loved ones, and Apple will no doubt be hoping that at least one of those gifts has a perfectly crafted Apple logo on the back. Already preparing for the raft of new iPhone, iPad and iPod touch owners that will no doubt be scurrying towards the App Store come December 25th, Apple's has made its '12 Days of Gifts' app available on the App Store - a full two weeks early.
China may be the location in which most Apple products are manufactured, but the iPhone has yet to make a huge mark on the country. With the iPhone 5c outlined as the first step towards making an impact on this developing market, the The Wall Street Journal suggests that China Mobile, the nation's foremost carrier by some distance, will begin taking iPhone pre-orders from 12th December. Although China's 4G network doesn't officially launch until next week on the 18th of December, it looks as though China Mobile wishes to get interested parties to commit early, and if all runs smoothly, this could be the first significant step for Apple in its quest to expand its mobile reach.
