Apple Granted The Right To Ban Motorola Handsets Over Slide To Unlock Feature

Paul Morris·February 17, 2012
The Apple iPhone is no doubt a beautiful example how an almost-perfect design can help make a product great. The first iPhone in 2007 was a triumph for Sir Jonathan Ives and his team, but perhaps one of those most memorable and iconic parts of the iPhone is the slide to unlock feature on the lock screen which has been made famous by Apple. Before the iPhone was released, mobile phones generally featured some kind of two button combo to lock/unlock the device, but Apple managed to change that, and have since featured the same swipe gesture in their iPod touch device as well as the iPad.

Paul Morris·February 16, 2012
The bombshell news relating to Apple’s plan to release a new version of OS X called Mountain Lion will no doubt come as a huge shock to many, and you will all be forgiven for still being in a daze considering it was only July of last year that the current OS X Lion was released.

Apple Releases Messages Beta, Brings iMessages To Mac OS X – Download Now

Paul Morris·February 16, 2012
One of the built-in features of OS X Lion, and previous versions is the chat application known as iChat which has always been billed as a fully featured instant messaging application which combines text, video and voice chat into one app. iChat has always been a very versatile application offering powerful features supported by the fact that it works with a number of services such as Yahoo and the largest instant messaging community in the United States, AIM.

Paul Morris·February 16, 2012
The Apple iOS development scene has gotten to a point where it will always be under the watchful gaze of outsiders looking in. And considering the emergence of mobile technology and software, it is hardly surprising. Mobile tech players play an important role in our everyday lives such that they are bound to come under intense scrutiny. Recent happenings surrounding the beautiful Path application have also made sure that all eyes remain firmly fixed on application security and how developers react to recent media reports.

SPLATT App For iPhone And Android Aims To Bring Text Messages To Life With Custom Videos And Animations

Paul Morris·February 15, 2012
What would you say if I said to you; forget about sending plain old text messages and get involved in Social Platform Leveraging Animated Texting? I know exactly what you would say, and none of it could be repeated in a public environment but that is exactly what non-suit-wearing developers at Splatt LLC want Android and iOS users to do.

RAZORIA Vinyl Skin For iPhone 4S And iPad 2 [Review]

Paul Morris·February 15, 2012
Regardless of whether you love or hate Apple, admire or resent them, or in just plain terms; plain don't care about the company, no-one can deny that they consistently churn out beautiful products. The design ethos isn't all about the product itself though, if you ever take the time to review the packaging that your new iPhone, Apple TV or iPod Shuffle comes in, you'll notice that it is just 'right'. I've lost count of the amount of times I have purchased a product from a different manufacturer only for it to be delivered in a mammoth box which is stuffed with protective bubble wrap, then to find that the product inside is swamped by free and unused space.

Facebook v2.3 For Windows Phone Being Pushed Out Today With Significant New Features

Paul Morris·February 14, 2012
Whenever I get a new or upgraded smartphone, the first application that I always head for is my preferred Twitter app but I concede that is possibly due to the fact that I am not really a Facebook user. With over 800 million active account holders, it is no surprise that the Facebook mobile application is one of the most downloaded pieces of software across all mobile platforms.

AndroidLoader For iPhone And iPod touch Gets Updated To v1.2, Features New UI, Android-Style Volume Slider & More [VIDEO]

Paul Morris·February 14, 2012
It was almost nine months ago that we brought you the original article regarding the release of the AndroidLoader tweak onto the Cydia store. May 2011 saw developer Surenix release AndroidLoader for jailbroken iPhones and iPod touches which gave users the ability to use a tap or slide in gesture to view all of their installed applications in one place. The name of the tweak will no doubt give it away, but the intention of the modification was to mimic the behavior of the app launcher that is found on the Android operating system.

Angry Birds Finally Lands On Facebook, Here’s How To Get Started

Paul Morris·February 13, 2012
Considering the fact that Angry Birds has nearly achieved world domination, it seemed rather bizarre that the world’s biggest and most successful mobile game hadn't been released on the world’s largest and most successful social network. Not wanting to leave the world in a state of unbalance, Rovio have rectified that situation which means that those temperamental birds are now available to fling around as a native Facebook application.
