Now that Evad3rs has launched an iOS 7 jailbreak, we're all sat impatiently waiting for what has to be the most obvious tweak that anyone could wish for on an iPhone 5s. In fact, it's something that we've been asking Apple to add in subsequent releases of iOS 7, but it doesn't look like it's going to be forthcoming. At least, it's not in iOS 7.1 as yet.

Oliver Haslam has written about technology for over a decade. His work has been published in print at Macworld and online pretty much everywhere else. If it plugs in or has a battery, it's fair game.
It's amazing how jailbreaking seems to go in waves. We have those busy spells where all we ever seem to hear about is new tweaks and apps hitting Cydia that should, hopefully, blow our minds and change the way we use our iOS devices. Then we have a period like the one that we've just come out of, where interest seems to wane and jailbreaking almost slips into hibernation.
Instagram, love it or loathe it, is very much the center of many of our lives. It's how people share photos of their kids, their holiday destinations and their family gatherings. Yes, there are plenty of people who post nothing but photos of their breakfasts or are busy taking selfies at funerals, but for every pointless photo on Instagram, we're willing to bet there are two that are magnificent. Just follow Trey Ratcliff's feed and you'll see what we mean.
The release of an iOS 7 jailbreak is certainly the biggest news of the last week, but that left us all wishing that Cydia would be updated to something that looked a little more iOS 7-like. Sure enough, the update to Cydia rolled around, but somewhat oddly the app's icon wasn't updated accordingly. On a home screen full of icons that are nice and flat, Cydia's stands out like a sore thumb.
It's fair to say that changing an iPhone's carrier logo is one of the more basic things that people jailbreak their iOS devices for. It's also one of the most named reasons for jailbreaking, with some people seemingly happy to just get rid of some overly long, scrolling carrier names even if it means hacking their device's software. And who are we to argue?
There's been more than a little talk over the last couple of days about Evad3rs and their new iOS 7 jailbreak. Once the initial surprise at its release had died down, attention soon turned to the fact that, given the right conditions, it would install a non-Cydia app store that many believed was there to facilitate easy piracy. The Internet exploded.
If you weren't lucky enough to get to WWDC and take a seat at some of Apple's sessions then you may have had to settle for getting to one of the company's Tech Talks. Taking place throughout North America, Asia and Europe, the talks saw Apple's evangelists take to the road in order to cover development of both apps and games for Apple systems.
We love a spot of nostalgia here at Redmond Pie, especially when it comes to the games that we used to play when we were growing up. We'll always have fond memories of Sonic, Streets of Rage and Castlevania, and being able to play them again and relive those memories is what keeps us young.
Good news for those toting Windows Phone devices this Christmas with the news that the hugely popular Temple Run 2 has finally made its way to Microsoft's smartphone platform.
Today has been one of those days. First there was the unexpected release of a new untethered jailbreak from the folks at Evad3rs, which got everyone so excited we thought our Twitter streams might explode. It seems people really like being able to jailbreak their iOS devices.
