It has now been over two decades since the Linux operating system kernel was born, and there have been more than a few exchanges of opinions with Microsoft over the years. Now the Windows-peddling software giant has released a "Happy Birthday" video in what appears to call for a truce - even suggesting the two work together.
Facebook users have long been able to embed media on their profile pages through statuses and wall posts, but now the possibility has been added to embed photos, videos and web links through its comment feature.
An interesting article posted in the Korea Times claims that Apple's next iPad device will feature a resolution of 2048x1536 pixels, way more detailed than the 1920x1080 pixel milestone of what is considered to be full HD. Samsung and LG, the world leaders in the LCD display manufacturing fields, are said to be the two companies from which Apple is conducting quality testing.
It was noted from the beginning by the skeptics that the iPad was merely a big iPhone which didn't really bring anything new to the table. What with the iPad tablet series coming with 3G technology (if you can afford it), it was surely only a matter of time before the creative minds tried to turn it into quite literally a big iPhone.
It's been over a year since Apple released the iPhone 4, and despite the infamous death grip/Antennagate scandal which marred its initial release (added the fact that there weren't actually enough made to cope with the release), it has capitalized on the success of its predecessors to become one of the world's most popular smartphones. As the world eagerly waits for Jobs and Co. to "change everything, again", the rumor mill is in full spin with all sorts of names and designs in circulation. Now we have what appears to be a little substance - leaked images of what is claimed to be a test unit of the next iPhone installment.
Many of us appreciate, even rely upon the hardcore techies of the hacking community to deliver the tweaks and mods that circumvent the limitations and help us realize the true potential of the devices we own. Whether it's rooting the HTC Desire or jailbreaking the iPad 2 (or hacking the PS3, which can land you in a whole lot of trouble if you aren't careful), no sooner are the firmware versions or devices released than the developers are beavering away looking for exploits in the system.
The Google spaceship seems to be altering and tweaking components on a daily basis - and today is no exception. Mat Honan over at Gizmodo has learned that it is no longer possible to log into two or more Google accounts simultaneously - which can be pretty counterproductive for those who run more than one account for various reasons. Luckily, as with most limitations set upon us, there are a number of ways to circumvent the problem and have your multiple accounts running seamlessly.
The iPhone 4’s 5 mega pixel camera has been a huge hit with wannabe photographers and videographers worldwide. It balances convenience and quality has even managed to outdo some of the very top brands such as Canon and Nikon in terms of popularity on social snap site Flickr.
E-Mail account hijacking is a big problem in our digital age. The convenience of sending instantaneous information electronically has seen handwritten letters nearing extinction. Many people rely greatly on their e-mail accounts for work as well as to keep up with those closest to them. Microsoft’s Hotmail service has long been soft a target for hacks and attacks, and is now upping the ante in order to protect its customers.
