We may be a generation of app addicts, but our ties to television remain as strong as ever. Amid the swathes of apps and games available to download, the likes of the iTunes Store offer countless TV shows, and such is the vastness of the library that we needn't ever leave the house. Indeed, many don't, and if you're a self-confessed TV addict looking for your latest fix, then iTunes has you covered with the first episode of Better Call Saul, as does Amazon.
Wow! This is just in. Apple has just released iOS 8.3 beta 1 download for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. iOS 8.2 also remains in beta mode, beta 5 of which was released only a week ago.
The iTunes App Store is packed to the gills, featuring thousands of great (and not so great) apps and games. With such a high volume of content available, users must take advantage of the various methods of finding the best, most interesting or most popular. But while those high on the most-downloaded lists are bound to be heavily-used, one ethically questionable Chinese firm demonstrates how even download / install stats can be manipulated.
Google's Chromecast took the entertainment market by storm when it launched all the way back in 2013. The HDMI dongle mightn't have been a set-top in the traditional sense, but it did prompt vendors of set-top boxes (read: Apple) into concerted expansion of services. One of the most enticing aspects of the Chromecast, besides the fact that it integrates with mobile devices and brought on-demand streaming services like Netflix to non-smart TV sets, is the price. At $35, it has been something of a revelation, but as if that price point wasn't reasonable enough, the Big G is now throwing in a digital gift to the value of six bucks to its highly valued army of Chromecast users. Check below for details on how you can claim yours!

As of next Wednesday, new standards on smartphone unlocking will come into play in the United States, making it a great deal easier for mobile consumers to pursue and achieve unlocked status through their network operator. When you make a purchase on an auction site like eBay, there's an element of trust and a great dose of user integrity involved. You buy something expecting to receive the item as described / presented, but there are always going to be issues with this format. One user discovered this in quite bizarre circumstances recently when he snapped up the apparent bargain of the century with the $450 purchase of a MacBook, only to find, upon delivery, that it was just a picture of the device. Ouch!
