Apple To Announce Verizon iPhone After CES 2011?

AT&T has been exclusively holding the iPhone for three years now, and it looks as if it’s finally going to come to an end soon. Apple is expected to announce the Verizon iPhone in early 2011. BusinessWeek reports that the announcement may not take place at CES 2011, but shortly afterwards, either by or before Valentines Day i.e. February 14th.

BusinessWeek states: “Apple’s introduction of an iPhone for use on Verizon’s network will come sometime after the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in early January, according to a person familiar with Apple’s plans who is not authorized to discuss them publicly.”

The release of the Verizon iPhone may help explain some of the recent iPhone 4 discounts being offered by AT&T and Radio Shack. Additionally, the Verizon logo on a FAQ page regarding Skype video calling on the iPhone. And lastly, Apple looking for CDMA engineers. [via MacRumors]
