An iPhone 13 Can Cost As Much As 3X Monthly Wage In Some Countries

Buying a brand new iPhone has always been more costly in some countries than others thanks to local economic situations as well as exchange rates. But a new report shows that things are so bad in some countries that people must hand over three months of wages to get their hands on Apple’s latest device.

According to research carried out by Money Supermarket, buying a 128GB iPhone 13 can cost a small fortune depending on which country you’re in.

The worst hit was Philippines, where it would take 97 days for someone to earn enough money to buy an iPhone.

Apple fans living in the Philippines will have to work an average of 775 hours to earn enough money to buy the iPhone 13 – that’s roughly 97 days (or more than 3 months) before we even account for living costs.
Including taxes, the iPhone 13 will cost $1,025 in the Philippines, that’s $149 (17%) more than for the same phone in the U.S.

By contrast, those buying an iPhone 13 in Switzerland have it best, with it taking people less than a week to earn enough money to pay for Apple’s latest hot gadget.

With an average annual salary of $79,270, people living in Switzerland would need less than a week of work (34 hours) to buy the latest iPhone.
While having one of the world’s largest median annual salaries, Switzerland also ranks in the top 10 for countries that pay the least for the iPhone 13.

These numbers obviously increase depending on the iPhone being bought — an iPhone 13 Pro Max costs more than an iPhone 13, while storage options also change the equation somewhat.
