16-Inch MacBook Pro Will Reportedly Be Same Size As Current 15-Inch Model Thanks To Slim Display Bezels

Apple is largely expected to announce a new 16-inch MacBook Pro for the first time and now the notoriously semi-reliable DigiTimes has weighed in. According to the outlet the new notebook will have an “ultra-narrow bezel” and launch in September.

Reports have already suggested that the new machine will go on sale before the close of the year, and this report by DigiTimes backs that up.

This new one also goes into the bezels that the new notebook will feature around that 16-inch 3072×1920 display, too.

As the story goes, this new model will feature a narrow bezel while the overall package will be around the same size as the currently shipping 15-inch MacBook Pro. Quanta is the company that is expected to be the company tasked with building it, according to unnamed sources within the supply chain.

With the expected announcement and subsequent launch now edging closer we’re starting to hear the same stories from multiple sources. They all have the new 16-inch notebook arriving in September or October, with the latter being the month that Apple usually chooses for such launches.

Whenever it does arrive – and it’s surely when, rather than if – it will be the first MacBook Pro with a display larger than 15 inches in a number of years.

As for the 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Pro, rumor has it that they will both receive their next round of refreshes around the same time as the release of the 16-inch model.
