There are already plenty of books that purport to tell the true story of Steve Jobs. Even with the official biography, written by Walter Isaacson out in the wild there are still plenty of things to learn about the man that co-founded Apple. A new book, on sale March 24th, may give the best insights into the real Jobs yet.
If there is one thing that the world isn't short of, it's books that claim to tell the story of Steve Jobs, whether it be his life during the early days of Apple or his triumphant return to the company he founded after his ousting years earlier. Some even span his whole life. There have been movies on the subject and a new one, penned by The West Wing's Aaron Sorkin is set to hit the big screen later this year.
The life and achievements of the late Apple co-founder Steve Jobs seem made for a Hollywood movie, and with The Social Network's writer Aaron Sorkin at the the helm of a flick based on the official Walter Isaacson biography, there's a genuine feeling that this could be another tech blockbuster. But Sorkin and the rest of the team tasked with prepping the Universal Pictures-commissioned biopic haven't had an easy ride in assembling the cast, and only recently arrived at Michael Fassbender and Seth Rogen as Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak. Now, for the first time, we get a look at these two actors in character.
The much talked about and often actor-less Steve Jobs biopic penned by Aaron Sorkin has finally begun filming, with Steve Jobs' former home being kitted out and ready for action.
The story of Steve Jobs' life was made to be told in the form of a movie, and the Aaron Sorkin-written biopic based on the official biography by Walter Isaacson is shaping up very nicely indeed. With that said, uncertainties have been aplenty in assembling the cast, with Christian Bale seemingly outlined for the role of the man himself before making a u-turn, but Kate Winslet has now been earmarked for a role in the upcoming biopic.
According to an interview from 1996, Steve Jobs, while talking about the Web, had predicted the coming of the e-commerce era. This was a time when the Internet or Web had not really taken off and were a new technological phenomenon.
Steve Jobs is already known for plenty of important milestones in the technology world, but it's sometimes easy to forget that he had his fingers in lots of pies that either never saw the light of day or are simply overshadowed by greater accomplishments. Did you know, for example, that Jobs has his name on a whopping 458 patents?
For quite some time, there have been rumors moving around that the Steve Jobs biographical motion picture (or biopic, as it's usually called) might be adopted by Universal Pictures, since Sony Pictures is considering dropping the project. Just a week ago, Sony actually did drop the project, and a week later, it has been taken up by Universal Pictures, confirmed a source to The Hollywood Reporter.
After the reported Leonardo DiCaprio talks broke down, it looked as though Christian Bale was a sure bet to play Steve Jobs in the upcoming biopic written by Aaron Sorkin. Earmarked for the lead role and lauded as the perfect fit by Sorkin himself, we'd begun looking ahead to the movies eventual release, with the small matter of the main title characters apparently done and dusted. Yesterday, it emerged that Bale had dramatically swerved the opportunity to play Jobs, but it seems a replacement may already have been found in the form of Michael Fassbender.
Aaron Sorkin's Steve Jobs biopic is having something of a hard time of it of late. First, apparently after plenty of negotiations, Leonardo DiCaprio decided that the role of Steve Jobs wasn't for him which opened the door for British actor and Batman himself Christian Bale. Now it's looking increasingly like Sorkin will once again have to be on the lookout for a new Jobs after Bale reportedly decided that he too won't be playing the iconic Apple co-founder.
