Watch In Awe As 10,000 iPhone 5 Units Fall Like Dominoes [VIDEO]

Ben Reid·April 18, 2013
We love a good concept idea here at Redmond Pie, and with all this incessant talk of an "iPhone 5S" hitting the scene at some point in the near future, the designers have been out in force putting forth their own takes on what kind of form factor the device may eventually employ. But while many are getting understandably carried away with the supposedly imminent seventh-gen handset, the guys over at Aatma Studio have been busy creating an iPhone concept of a different kind.

Watch Funny Or Die’s iSteve Movie Featuring Justin Long Online

Ben Reid·April 17, 2013
Earlier this month, Funny or Die released the most recent in a series of teaser clips of its upcoming iSteve movie, a satirical flick based on the life of the late, great Steve Jobs. Today, iSteve has been released for the public's consumption, and you will find all of the necessary details after the break.

Man’s Bionic Arm Controlled By iPhone [VIDEO]

Ben Reid·April 15, 2013
The wonders of technology seemingly know few bounds, but while we frequently see stories of how cool tech can be when traditions are broken and new benchmarks are set, it's always nice to appreciate that, in many cases, technology can be a truly inspiring, even life-changing commodity. This is certainly the case for 34-year-old Jason Koger who, having lost the vast majority of both of his arms in an accident, had a bionic limb fitted which is controlled, in part, by an iPhone app. What makes this story even more heart warming though, is that the limb has also allowed Koger, for the very first time, to hold his daughter's hand.

New iOS 7 Concept Brings Significantly More Animation To The Fold [VIDEO]

Ben Reid·April 13, 2013
I cannot recall seeing a wider variety of concept ideas for a piece of software than I have recently for iOS 7, and with the tech community anticipating some big changes thanks to the increased influence of one Jony Ive, it's hardly surprising to see designers tripping over themselves to bring forth their ideas and coming up with all sorts of iOS 7 concepts. One in particular from YouTuber iamthe6ixth offers a somewhat alternative take on the vast majority of those we've looked at hitherto, and instead of playing on the idea of a dramatically altered user interface, this concept presents changes pertaining to the functionality and behavior of iOS.

New iOS 7 Concept Brings Various System Toggles To The Home Screen [VIDEO]

Ben Reid·April 10, 2013
Like many jailbreakers, one of the very first tweaks I install upon jailbreaking a device for the first time is SBSettings. Its effortless toggling of any and every major setting within iOS is a commodity that cannot be enjoyed at stock level, but it's certainly something quite a few of us would love to see right off the bat. Designer Ran Avni certainly seems to concur, and has dared to dream with a very elegant design bringing toggles for alarm, orientation, Wi-Fi and others right to the home / lock screen.

Here’s An iPhone 6 Concept With A Ridiculously Curved Display [IMAGE]

Ben Reid·April 9, 2013
Ever since an Apple patent lodged back in 2011 was rubber-stamped last month by the USPTO, the world of tech seems to have gotten itself carried away with the idea of a near-future iPhone featuring, among other things, a variant of the curved AMOLED display outlined in the filing. It didn't take long for a leak of a 'prototype' of an iPhone 5S / 6 to leak into the wild amid all the hullabaloo, and today, designers Nickolay Lamm and Matteo Gianni have come through with a rather striking render of how an iPhone with a curved display may eventually look.

Funny Or Die Releases Teaser Trailer For ‘iSteve’ Movie [VIDEO]

Ben Reid·April 2, 2013
Comedy site Funny or Die recently announced its intention to release iSteve, a feature-length movie based on the life of Steve Jobs. What with two further major upcoming cinema releases based on the late, great Apple co-founder, the idea of a Jobs-related movie isn't entirely new, but Funny or Die's effort should certainly be a lot more of a lighthearted take on the life and times of Mr. Jobs. More details and video after the jump.

April Fools 2013 Roundup – The Best Tech Pranks In One Place!

Ben Reid·April 1, 2013
Google set the tone nicely for this year's April Fools by announcing the closure of YouTube alongside a new "Treasure Mode" for its popular Maps service, but the Big G isn't the only company feeling a little mischievous this Easter Monday. Many other big names, from Twitter to Samsung, have joined in the camaraderie, and here, we take a look at some of the good, the bad, and the downright hilarious of today's spoofs.

PlayStation 4 Console Design Concept Render Hits The Web [VIDEO]

Goncalo Ribeiro·March 23, 2013
For the longest of time, we have known that Sony has been preparing a new console launch, which was finally confirmed when the company held an event in New York City late last month showing off the technical aspects of the upcoming PlayStation 4. It has not, however, shown off the new hardware design, leaving many to speculate what the next console may look like. A new artist-created render shows off just what might be in store for the next PlayStation.

Humor: French Ad Shows Paper Does Have A Future, Even Versus A Tablet [VIDEO]

Ben Reid·March 14, 2013
In this Digital Age, we're certainly using paper a great deal less than we used to. Whether reading, writing or corresponding, the ease in which one can send an e-mail, purchase and read a new book or create a document is something often taken for granted, but as one French company has correctly pointed out, there are still plenty of uses for paper in our day-to-day lives. Humorously portrayed in an advertisement, a husband constantly taunts his bemused partner by enjoying a more efficient, digital life than his altogether more traditional other half; but soon comes a cropper in a certain situation where a tablet simply cannot be of any use.
