In the middle of all the jailbreak related madness are the developers with new ideas looking to penetrate Cydia by offering something simple and appealing to users. One such package, RecentFacebook, comes from developer Alexandru Laurus, and offers something appealing yet unbelievably simple.
IntelliScreenX 8 beta has been released. The coveted Cydia tweak which has been making your iPhone and iPad's Notification Center come alive for almost two years, has finally been updated for iOS 8 and 8.1.
Apple Watch may have been announced some two months ago alongside the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, but it's going to be a great deal longer before the Cupertino's new smartwatch line-up is available to the mass market. A lot of preparation is currently being undertaken to ensure that consumers enjoy the very best experiences, and the closest we've gotten so far to actually using the elusive gadget is by means of a jailbreak tweak replicating its interface on iOS, but the whole experience was rather shoddy. One developer, having picked up the source code from the earlier endeavors, has come through with a very exciting new jailbreak tweak that not only allows users to launch apps via the circular, animated home screen UI, but also, enjoy the kind of buttery smoothness that we'll be expecting of the real product when it finally does emerge from the ether.
It's Call of Duty Season as far as fans of the seminal first-person shooter are concerned, and with Advanced Warfare having recently dropped for the main consoles, Activision has come through with Call of Duty: Heroes for iOS. Presumably, an Android version will also be in the offing at some point, but at present, it's only available for iPhone and iPad users, so if you're rocking one of these devices, we've the details and download link right here.
One of Cydia's most impressive and comprehensive power management systems for jailbroken devices has just been updated with support for iOS 8 / 8.1.
Some things are cool not because of what they actually do but rather because how they do it. Overglide is a new game on the App Store and costing a dollar is one prime example of just that.
Google is known for doing some rather strange things, even if they eventually turn out to be brilliant. Take Google's Fiber broadband rollout to select markets as a prime example of something that had us shrugging our shoulders before realizing that it made so much sense we can't work out why it didn't do it before.
Even now, nearly two months since the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus were released and we're still waiting for some major players to update their apps to support Apple's two new smartphones. One of those apps that people have been waiting for an update to is the Netflix app, and that update just landed on the App Store.
Alongside some very interesting new tweaks, jailbreak developers have been busily updating some of the old classics. Over the years, a collection of 50-100 tweaks have risen to prominence and, through the iOS versions, stayed put. IntelliScreenX, otherwise known as ISX by those who use it, is arguably one of the most feature-rich tweaks on offer via Cydia, and with Pangu8 having permitted those on Apple's most recent software to reap the benefits of a jailbreak, ISX is almost ready for prime time.
Filippo Bigarella's famed Springtomize tweak has, in recent years, established itself as the go-to utility for modifying hundreds of little aspects of Apple's iOS operating system. Be it an aesthetic annoyance, such as a status bar entry that won't disappear, or a functional limitation, Springtomize operates as an all-in-one service that essentially combines the prowess of dozens of other tweaks, nullifying them in the process, and having already announced an updated version of Springtomize 3 for iOS 8, the author has now gone and rolled it out.
