With the Samsung Galaxy S IV announcement arriving late next week, the rumor mill is awash with various claims pertaining to the handset. In the latest, the specs – including an Exynos 5410 quad-core chip clocked at 1.8GHz – is said to be powering the Korean company’s beastly flagship, but those hoping for a change in the usual plastic wrapping are going to be left disappointed once more. According to leaked benchmarks, the Galaxy S IV will be at the top of the pile when it comes to sheer power, but a separate leak suggests that, while it was hoped Samsung would try and impress with a solid finish, it looks as though the shiny plastic is back to fight another day.

With just ten days to go until the grand unveiling of Samsung’s Galaxy S IV smartphone at a special event in New York City, the Korean company has begun the countdown by posting a teaser video clip of the highly-anticipated handset. The clip involves a young boy – the “secret messenger” of Samsung Unpacked 2013 – calling in to take a look at a secret package. Upon opening the box, the boy’s face excitedly lights up with the sunlit glow of its contents, and one has to wonder whether tech fans will be as dazzled by what they see once proceedings begin on March 14th.

With precisely two weeks remaining until the big unveiling of the Samsung Galaxy S IV in New York’s Times Square, the rumor mill is naturally picking up on every lead and murmuring pertaining to the device. SamMobile has been pumping out such speculation on a daily basis over the past couple of weeks, and believes Samsung will launch the device in two different colors – white and black – with three different memory options. Such revelations would usually mean very little, but with Samsung having favored the Pebble Blue look over the traditional black look with the Galaxy S III, reverting to a more typical color configurations is likely to please the masses.

That day, incidentally, is the day before rival HTC launches its new, impressive ‘One’ handset to market, which makes the prospect of the fourth Galaxy S device landing on the 14th to bag some thunder even more likely. The rumors and speculation pertaining to the Samsung Galaxy S IV has been almost non-stop during the opening six weeks of 2013, and murmurings originating from the Twitter account of Eldar Murtazin, founder of Russian blog Mobile-Review, indicates the highly-anticipated device will be unveiled on March 14th in New York. Of course, it should be taken with a pinch of salt at this point in time, although with a March / April having looked a probable release frame for a while now, it’s certainly not beyond the realms of possibility that the handset could be just one month away.

Samsung’s Galaxy lineup of high-end Android smartphones is technically scheduled to receive the addition of a new member to the family, and the hype around that continues to build as we move ahead in the year. While no one yet knows for sure the release date or the actual specifications of the device, so much as been ‘leaked’ that it’s a fairly good guess now that the device will feature an Exynos 5 Octa CPU, coupled with Adreno 320 GPU and a 13-megapixel camera.

The Samsung Galaxy S IV is the smartphone nearly every Android fan is waiting to see this year, and according to a report over at SamMobile, the device will launch alongside a “mini” version of the revered handset, as well as a supposed “Galaxy Watch”. The latter is being touted as a contender to the as-yet unannounced ‘iWatch’ from Apple, and with a mini version of the Galaxy S III having been in circulation for a number of months now, it’s certainly plausible that both could accompany the main event.

Samsung’s Galaxy S IV is the most eagerly-anticipated Android smartphone release this year, and considering it has the ever popular S II and S III as its predecessors, it’s little wonder Samsung is said to be pulling out all the stops with the fourth addition to the Galaxy S family. According to reports originating from Korea, the 4.99-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display that the company showcased at CES is nearing the production line, with manufacturers set to begin assembling the part by the end of this month. As a result, screens will start shipping to Samsung Electronics in early March.
