The trackball LED on Google Nexus One has the ability to show different colored lights but Google for some reason has programmed it in a way, so that it can only flash one white color. This seems as a step backwards specially when some other Android phones have this ability to flash one or more colors for use with different phone notifications such as missed calls, new mail, SMS and so on.
Retaliating in a strong way to hacking attacks and to make a strong point, it was thought that Google had decided to call off the Android Developer Lab for Nexus One in Beijing, just a week ahead of the event. In a new update, a company spokesperson told All Things D that the report is erroneous.
I have been extensively testing the new HTC Sense from HTC Desire ROM on Nexus One and so far has been very impressed with what HTC has to offer with this new version of Sense experience for Android phones. This ROM with Sense also packs Flash Player 10.1 for Android which is officially slated for Android 2.x release sometime this year.
Paul at Modaco forums has finally released a very alpha version of the HTC Desire ROM with HTC Sense for Nexus One that we posted about a few days ago. Just came across this next-generation iPhone 4G concept image which shows off a Super AMOLED screen, a front-facing camera for video conferencing via iChat, and an LED Flashlight on the backside for the 5 megapixel camera. We all know how AMOLED screens produces crisp and vivid contrasts compared to the traditional LED displays on iPhones. The recently announced Samsung Wave has gone a step further by introducing Super AMOLED display technology which is an improved version of AMOLED, seen on the devices like Nexus One.
Folks over at Modaco forums are working on porting the new HTC Sense experience from the newly released HTC Desire over to the Google-branded Nexus One phone. For those of you who don't know, HTC Desire was unveiled yesterday by HTC at the Mobile World Congress 2010. Specs wise, this phone is exactly as powerful as the Google phone with 1Ghz processor, 512MB RAM, 3.7’’ AMOLED display and so on. Since it is a HTC branded phone, it comes with a unique HTC Sense experience with exclusive HTC-designed widgets.
Inspired by the overclocking capabilities of the Motorola Droid, folks at XDA-Developers have managed to overclock the most powerful Android phone available today – the Google Nexus One to 1.113Ghz. It is said to be running faster and is stable at this speed. It will be interesting to see how long can these XDA devs push to see the real potential and capabilities of this Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chip.
A new Android 2.1 ROM for Google Nexus One has leaked in the wild. This new ERE36B non-OTA is said to include a new radio, in a bid to fix the ongoing 3G issue which has been hampering T-Mobile Nexus One users since its January 5th launch.
iPhone and iPod touch users currently have to slide-in and enter a password(if enabled) in order to unlock the device. But now you can also unlock your favorite gadget just like the way you do on an Android phone like Droid and Nexus One. For the latter, you have to connect 9 dots in some custom specified way to unlock your phone.
Most of you who are either following me on twitter, or are subscribed to our facebook fanpage may already know that I bought Nexus One today and just to make it a bit different, I decided to unbox it side by side with another similarly spec’ed phone – the HTC HD2. Both Nexus One and HTC HD2 are powered by 1Ghz Snapdragon processor.
