Steve Jobs’ Biographer, Walter Isaacson, Is Writing A Book About Tesla CEO Elon Musk

Walter Isaacson, the man that was tasked with writing the official Steve Jobs biography, is now working on one about Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk as confirmed by the man himself.

Tesla’s Musk has confirmed that Isaacson has been following him around for a number of days, noting that he was a particular fan of the biographer’s work on Benjamin Franklin. Musk didn’t mention that Isaacson wrote the Jobs biography, however.

Isaacson’s Steve Jobs biography was released in 2011 and immediately came under fire from various corners, not least within Apple. Despite Isaacson being the only biographer to have direct access to Jobs before his death, many accused him of being inaccurate in a number of instances.

The tension between Apple and Musk is also something of note here. Musk recently accused Apple’s App Store of being a “de facto tax” on the internet, while there were recent reports that he also demanded to be made Apple CEO as part of a potential buyout of Tesla.

Musk later denied that was the case, but it will be interesting to see if we learn more about that in the new book.

There’s no telling when the book will be made available, but we can only hope Isaacson takes his time to make sure that it’s as accurate as possible. Musk has had an interesting and sometimes controversial life of his own.
