Sony’s Holding Its PS5 Event A Day After Apple’s September 15 Event

Next week is already looking like it could be quite the big one with Apple holding its own media event on September 15. But now just a day after, September 16, Sony will also hold an event of its own, and it’s all about PS5.

While Sony isn’t saying specifically that this will be the date that we get to find out when the PS5 will ship and how much it will cost, Sony is saying that the event is one more look at some of the great games coming to PS5 at launch (and beyond!), whatever that means.

Given recent events at Microsoft it’s surely a safe bet that we can expect a price and release window to come out of this Sony event. We know that the Xbox consoles will start at just $299 and that pre-orders will go live soon.

That puts the pressure very much on Sony and expectations are already that the PS5 will be costly. Still, we could all be surprised and who knows, maybe Sony will go toe-to-toe with Microsoft here.

Whatever actually happens, the whole thing will go down next Wednesday at 4PM ET / 1PM PT.

It’s possible that more information will leak out ahead of that event, but at this point we just need to know when we can order and how much it’ll cost.

It isn’t too much to ask, is it?
