Sony Is Finally Letting People Easily Share Game Captures From Their Phones

Sony has announced that it is expanding a feature that allows people to share their game captures from their phone.

The feature was previously only available in Japan, but it’s now also rolling out to the Americas with more countries coming online next month.

Sony made the announcement via Twitter with an FAQ detailing how things will work. Once enabled the feature will automatically upload all screen captures to the cloud and then allow people to share them to social media via the PlayStation app on their phone.

The only catch is that this is only available for PS5 users who have their phone linked to their console and that videos are limited to below 4K resolution.

This feature is currently live in Japan and Canada, and is gradually rolling out in the Americas where PlayStation App is available. PS5 console users in supported countries can access this feature by downloading the latest PlayStation App update for iOS and Android.

Sony isn’t yet saying which countries will come online next month, but we can expect more details soon enough. The FAQ is worth a read if you’re in one of the supported countries and want to enable the feature on your own console, too.
