New Tesla Model S Deliveries Are On Hold And Nobody Seems To Know Why

People with new Tesla Model S orders awaiting delivery are finding that they’re going to have to wait a little longer than expected amid reports that Tesla has put new car deliveries on hold.

It isn’t yet clear why this is the case however and it comes just weeks after Tesla first began delivering its refreshed Model S.

As reported by Electrek, some Model S owners have been told that their cars have arrived at local delivery centers, but that Tesla has placed a hold on deliveries for an unknown reason. This after deliveries have already been delayed for various reasons.

Several new Tesla Model S buyers have told Electrek and posted to forums about how they are being told by Tesla that there’s a “hold” on delivering the new vehicle.

Buyers who have been waiting for months for their new vehicles were told that they finally arrived at their local delivery centers, but Tesla wasn’t able to deliver them.

While the actual reason for the delay hasn’t been communicated, one Reddit user has been told that “new inspection standards” are the issue, suggesting that Tesla is trying to make sure something isn’t wrong with the cars before they can be delivered.

The new Model S comes with a redesigned and upgraded interior as well as the much-maligned yoke wheel. It remains to be seen exactly what’s going on here, but we can only hope the delay is so Tesla can install a proper steering wheel into these things.
