iOS 15.4 And iPadOS 15.4 Final Release Date Announced

Following the announcement of a raft of new products and refreshes, Apple also confirmed today that it will be making iOS 15.4 and iPadOS 15.4 available to the public next week.

The software updates are currently being tested by developers as well as those who are on the public beta program, with the process ongoing for weeks.

Now, it looks like Apple will be making the update available to everyone alongside the arrival of the new iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 devices in Alpine Green and Green respectively. Both of those products go on sale next week.

The new iOS 15.4 and iPadOS 15.4 updates bring with them some new features and improvements, not least the ability to use Face ID while wearing a mask. That’s a big deal for when wearing a mask in stores etc — with support for unlocking while wearing a mask also including Apple Pay and apps like 1Password etc.

The updates will also include 37 new emojis and Universal Control for those who want to use their Mac’s mouse and keyboard on their iPad.

The March 8 event brought the arrival or refreshed iPhone SE and iPad Air products as well as a new Mac. The Mac Studio is similar to a Mac mini in terms of footprint but is taller and offers the new M1 Ultra chip for the best performance yet. A new Studio Display was also announced during the same event.
