iPhone SE 2022 And iPad Air 2022 Announced, Here Are The Details

Apple today announced updates to its iPhone SE and iPad Air and while both are notable updates to already popular products, both are finding themselves overshadowed by the arrival of an all-new Mac and a fancy new display to go with it.

And while the new Mac Studio and Studio Display are indeed impressive, here’s everything you need to know about the new iPhone SE and iPad Air.

iPhone SE 2022

The updated iPhone SE is exactly as we had expected it to be. The same 4.7-inch LCD screen remains and the Touch ID home button is present and correct. But the addition of 5G connectivity and the same A15 Bionic chip found in the iPhone 13 lineup makes for a powerful little device.

“iPhone SE has been an incredibly popular choice with our existing users and for new iPhone customers, thanks to its iconic design, exceptional performance, and affordable price. This year we’ve built the most powerful and durable iPhone SE yet, with better battery life thanks to A15 Bionic, the same chip as our iPhone 13 lineup that also unlocks advanced camera features like Smart HDR 4, Photographic Styles, and Deep Fusion,” said Kaiann Drance, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide iPhone Product Marketing. “And with 5G, iPhone SE gives users faster downloads and uploads, higher quality video streaming, real-time interactivity in apps, and much more. Delivering the latest generation of technology and performance at this price is something only Apple can do.”

The new iPhone SE will come in three colors, starlight, midnight, and (PRODUCT)RED when it goes on sale next week. Pre-orders begin on March 11 with prices starting at $429 for the 64GB model. There will also be a 128GB and 256GB model available for those who want it, too.

iPad Air 2022

Apple’s updated iPad Air spring a surprise, not least because it now comes with the M1 chip that already powers so many of Apple’s speedy Macs and the iPad Pro. The new iPad Air also comes with 5G support for the ultimate in connectivity, while a new array of colors is being offered.

“Whether it’s a college student taking elaborate notes, a content creator working on their latest project, or a gamer playing graphics-intensive titles, users love iPad Air for its amazing performance and versatility in such a portable design,” said Greg Joswiak, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing. “With the breakthrough M1 chip, Ultra Wide front camera with Center Stage, and ultra-fast 5G, iPad Air is now more powerful, more capable, and simply more fun than ever.”

The Updated iPad Air will go on sale on March 18 and can be pre-ordered this Friday. Prices start at $599 for a 64GB model while a 256GB version will also be offered.
