Huawei Wishes Everyone A New Year On Twitter… From An iPhone

When he’s not creating videos with millions of views, tech YouTuber Marques “MKBHD” Brownlee is calling out people who post promotional tweets about phones from a competing manufacturer, and you’d be amazed at how often it happens. The latest to fall foul of Brownlee’s eagle eye is Chinese Android phone maker Huawei.

Posting a New Year greeting to Twitter, whoever runs the @huawei Twitter account fell foul of the most obvious mistake we can think of by sending the tweet from the official iPhone Twitter app. Oops!

While this doesn’t really mean a great deal, it’s another example of an embarrassing situation that could have been avoided. If you’re running public relations for a large technology company, like Huawei, or Samsung, or any of the other companies that have been called out, surely you can get your hands on a phone to send the tweets from. Even better, just use a web app or marketing tool to save the whole thing from ever being a problem again.

What makes this all the more interesting is the fact it just keeps on happening, with Samsung Nigeria even going so far as to delete its entire account after it made the same mistake not too long ago. It’s true that none of this will impact sales, but again, when a mistake like this is so avoidable, why not avoid it?

Meanwhile, if any phone manufacturer is looking for someone to send the odd tweet for them, we’re more than willing to step into the breach. It looks like the professionals just aren’t quite up to it!
