GTA VI Release Date Reportedly Set For 2023 – 10 Years After GTA V

Grand Theft Auto continues to receive plenty of play time even seven years after it was released. But we now have our best indication yet that it’s finally getting some backup in the form of Grand Theft Auto VI, or GTA VI as it will likely become known.

According to VentureBeat, publisher Take-Two has filed its latest 10-K finance report with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

That report includes details about Take-Two’s projected marketing spend for the next five years and the company expects to spend a massive $89 million through the financial year that ends on March 31, 2024.

If that sounds like a lot, it’s because it is. In fact, it’s more than double even the next most costly year included in that report. The assumption is the increase in budget is because there’s a big game on the horizon. And they don’t get much bigger than the Grand Theft Auto franchise.

There has however been some confusion over whether this does actually point to a big spend related to GTA. There could be another big release – or multiple releases – coming during that timeframe. It could even be a brand new franchise. Companies still do that, don’t they?

Not that you’d think to look at the games we get month in, month out!
