Kodi 18.7 Leia Is Now Available For Download

You can now download Kodi 18.7 IPA / APK for iOS 13, iPadOS 13, Android running on iPhone, iPad or Android device. Here are the details.

Fans of the popular Kodi media software will be pleased to learn that there’s a new version for them to download, with Kodi Leia 18.7 now available. The update adds the usual bug fixes and such and is definitely worth a download by all Kodi users.

The Kodi Team continues to release new updates for the app regularly in an attempt to get fixes into the hands of users as often as possible. This update follows that method and you can read a full change log in the announcement post if you need the details.

The TL;DR of it all, is that there are a ton of fixes for playback and display issues as well as audio, two things that kind of need as much work as possible when your app plays back video and audio!

Audio

  • Fix to not reset user-set volume (Android)
  • Fixes around multi-channel audio track support

Playback/Display

  • Fixes to Bluray subtitle language recognition
  • Fix playback of bus-encrypted bluray discs
  • Improved library handing for plugins if media source is removed
  • Use JNI instead of NDK for MediaCodec (Android)
  • Further work on maximum width and height/vertical-shift (Android)
  • Fixes around realtime handling of TS streams

It’s worth noting that you might have to wait a little while before the new update is available to you, depending on how you normally get your updates. The team notes that Google Play and Microsoft Store in particular are taking longer than normal to make updates available to users. You can thank the coronavirus pandemic for that, unfortunately.
