Electra Beta 11 iOS 11.1.2 Jailbreak Released, Paves Way For Cydia Integration

CoolStar has made Electra beta 11 iOS 11.1.2 jailbreak now available for download. While some of you might be disappointed to learn that it doesn’t include the much anticipated Cydia support as yet, but all is not lost as Cydia integration is likely to come in the next version.

Electra beta 11 basically paves the way for Cydia integration, which means the next version – beta 12 or whatever it ends up being called – will highly likely include the Cydia for iOS 11 that we all have been waiting for so long.

For those of you who don’t know, Electra jailbreak is developed by CoolStar based on exploits discovered by Ian Beer and works on all 64-bit devices, including iPhone X, running iOS 11.o-11.1.2. It includes support for Comex’s Substitute framework which is basically an alternative to Saurik’s Cydia Substrate in order to make running jailbreak tweaks possible.

As things stand today, those using Electra jailbreak have to manually install jailbreak tweaks either using SSH or using apps like Tweak Installer. That is of course all about to change with modified version of Cydia now coming to Electra thanks to the work put in by CoolStar and his team.

Saurik previously promised to release both Cydia Installer and Cydia Substrate with iOS 11 support but for whatever reason, even after weeks (probably months), he has still not been able to release the goods to public.

Coming back to Electra beta 11, you can check out the full changelog of this release below:

Beta 11: (Current)

-Add libjailbreak so command line tools, apps, etc. can talk to jailbreakd if needed (n_triangle_dev)

-Use XPC instead of UDP from libjailbreak and xpcproxy (n_triangle_dev)

-Use TCP instead of UDP from launchd (coolstar)

As for downloading this latest version of Electra, you can get beta 11 from coolstar.org/electra/.

We will of course let you know as soon as the next version of Electra is out with support for Cydia on jailbroken iOS 11 devices. Stay tuned for more.
