iPhone 4 was announced at WWDC 10 by Steve Jobs in front of packed audience at Moscone Center, San Francisco. This release without a doubt is a significant jump in the iPhone line-up since its introduction back in 2007.
The GM (Gold Master) release of iOS 4 for iPhone 3GS, 3G and iPod touch 3G, 2G has made its way on the popular file sharing and torrent sites. Unlike all the previous Betas, this release actually doesn't require registered UDID, and you can restore it on a Windows machine too but it will be pointless as for activation, you will still need iTunes 9.2 Beta which is currently only available for registered developers on Macs.

Apple today has finally released the very final version of iPhone OS 4 (now renamed to iOS 4.0), along with SDK for iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS and iPod touch 2G/3G. Members enrolled in the iPhone Developer Standard or Enterprise program can access the bits right now, while the public will get it via the latest version of iTunes soon.

The redsn0w 0.9.5b4 which was released for iPhone OS 4 Beta 4 (now iOS 4) will need an update to work with this version of iOS 4. But the instructions to jailbreak would remain the same. The million dollar question, how long before the new iPhone 4 is going to be jailbroken and unlocked? Well we already know that the iPhone Dev Team has already announced that they are going to release an unlock which will work on the 05.12.01 baseband on all iPhones, provided they haven't upgraded to the latest 05.13 baseband. But since the new iPhone 4 will have the latest baseband, it will be a while before it gets fully jailbroken and unlocked. Another infamous iPhone hacker by the name of Geohot is also said to have a new bootrom exploit, which he has preserved for this new iPhone.
This is a friendly reminder for all iPhone 3GS, iPad and iPod touch 3G users to save SHSH blobs now before Apple pushes the new iPad 3.3/3.2.1 and iPhone OS 4 firmware today at WWDC 10. This is important if you want to jailbreak (by downgrading) your device again should Apple patches the exploit used by Spirit jailbreak tool.
WWDC 10 is only about 12 hours away now where Apple will unveil the next iPhone and what we have now is even more pictures leaked from Korea, showing the back panel, and other parts of the white model (video here) of the next-gen iPhone. The back panel case is similar to all the previous leaks that we have seen so far. Maybe someone in China, Vietnam or Korean region have got loads of these parts and they are selling it off to make loads of money right before the official announcement by Jobs.
