The all-in-one untethered jailbreak tool, which was released yesterday has been updated. An issue which was reported earlier where it deleted all the saved photos on the device once the jailbreak was complete has been fixed. This update to Spirit resolves error code c0000005 which some Windows users were facing.
You might have already heard or read by now that comex has lived up to his promised and has released Spirit – the untethered userland jailbreak which works on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. Spirit, which works on both Windows and Mac OS X can jailbreak all the newer iDevices like iPhone touch 3G and 2G (MC model), iPhone 3GS and the newly released iPad as long as they are officially activated via iTunes.
The all-in-one untethered iDevice jailbreak for iPhone 3.1.3, iPad 3.2 and iPod touch 2G/3G is finally here. Available for both Windows and Mac OS X, Spirit is a userland jailbreak but it does not work out-of-the browser as previously thought. It is in fact a simple one click app, like Blackra1n which can jailbreak (not unlock) any Apple iDevice on iPhone 3.1.2 or 3.1.3.
Last time we wrote about “Android on iPhone” bits was when hackers had successfully ported Android to an iPhone 2G. We also posted a complete step by step guide on how to install it on a jailbroken 2G. But the problem was that it was only for the iPhone 2G, not for the 3G version which is more widely used now than the original iPhone EDGE model.
According to a report by The Chosum libo, the next Apple iPhone 4G / HD will feature a 5-megapixels camera from LG Innotek with LED flash. We have already heard similar rumors a number of times in the past that a 5MP camera with LED flash, along with a front-facing cam for video conferencing (via iChat) will be one of the many highlights of the next iPhone.
The guy who found the next Apple iPhone in a bar, and then reportedly sold it to Gawker Media for US $5000 has been identified by Wired as Brian Hogan. We had already posted earlier that Apple authorities approached Police to resolve the entire drama of the lost iPhone 4 prototype which also led to seizing of the Gizmodo's Editor computers.
This will erupt lots of cries and disappointment but this was important to post as I know many of you have been really looking forward to it. The creator of Spirit has posted an update, “now” confirming that he is not going to release his jailbreak tool on Friday (tomorrow). Moreover, he has also deleted his “update” where he said that it was coming this Friday.
We did inform you all yesterday that Spirit untethered jailbreak for all the iDevices including iPhone, iPad and iPod touch will be released very soon. And now we have been tipped by our readers that it is in fact coming as soon as this Friday (if all goes according to plan) – the same day on which iPad 3G ships.
Apple has officially confirmed the schedule for WWDC 2010. It is going to be held from 7th to 11th of June - just over a month from now. A lot of exciting things are on the horizon for this conference, including great opportunities for developers and hopefully the unveiling of the next iPhone, along with iPhone OS 4.
Well it now looks like Geohot is not going to release his jailbreaking bits for the iPhone and iPad anytime soon. According to some of his recent tweets, his tools are not ready for primetime use yet. What this probably means now is that he is not going to release blackra1n for untethered iPhone 3.1.3 jailbreak (as previously thought), iPhone OS 4 and iPad before the next-iPhone is out this summer.
