So, it has recently come out of the woodwork that Apple will be holding a special event on September 10th. At this event, it's widely expected that Apple will release the iPhone 5S, the refresh to the aging iPhone 5, among a few other exciting products. The nature of this event is likely to be focused on iOS devices, it's almost guaranteed that we'll see the Golden Master (GM) release of Apple's new software - iOS 7 - on this date too. And if few more bugs are found, and we’re lucky enough, we might actually see another beta before the GM release.
With iOS 7 just weeks away from release, much of the discussion has surrounded what developers will do with their own apps and how they will redesign their interfaces. As all eyes are on the developer community, it was almost forgotten that Apple too would need to update its own iOS apps to reflect the new interface that goes along with iOS 7.
When you spend a lot of money on a gadget, it stands to reason that you'll pony up a little more on a suitable protective case and some useful accessories. Although the iPad mini was, in the eyes of many, supposed to be a significantly cheaper alternative to the full-size model, it turns out that Apple likes to keep prices high across the board; who'd have thought? Still, if you have an iPad mini, and are looking for some decent products to enhance the experience, look no further than the new Folio range from Logitech, a duo of high-grade new cases helping you increase productivity as well as protection.

As Ben pointed out in his earlier post, the biggest change in this update is without doubt the new in-app multitasking functionality that allows you to watch a video, and browse the app itself with ease simultaneously.
Apple is a company of exceptional uniformity, but with the iPad 4 currently taking quite a different shape to the iPad mini, reports of the next iteration larger device taking design design cues of the smaller slate have been plentiful. Today, new images have emerged supposedly depicting the rear housing of the fifth-gen Cupertino tablet, giving even more legitimacy to the notion that the iPad 5 will indeed be enveloped in a similar finish as the iPad mini.

Not so long ago, Facebook's mobile prowess, or lack thereof, was a frequent criticism of the social network, but ever since version 5.0 landed for both iOS and Android, things have taken a dramatic upturn. Although every iOS device now ships with built-in support for FaceTime, Microsoft-owned Skype still enjoys a decent following on Apple's range of mobile products. Today, many months after Windows Phone was treated to HD video calling support, the Redmond has updated its iPhone and iPad apps to deliver the same functionality to those in ownership of the iPhone 5 and iPad 4. Despite Microsoft dragging its heels in rolling out this update, there's quite a noticeable difference in quality, so if you're a Skyper who just so happens to own a fourth-gen iPad or the iPhone 5, you'll want to pick up the updated Skype for iOS app right now from the App Store.
