How To Setup And Use iPhone 5s Touch ID Fingerprint Sensor [Video Walkthrough]

Tom Richardson·September 20, 2013
Little over a week ago at their September media event, Apple announced the new iPhone 5s. Along with an impressive upgrade list to it's predecessor, the iPhone 5, the 5s came with a feature many people had bookmarked as too outlandish for Apple to include. This feature is, of course, biometric fingerprint scanning integration, or as Apple call it: Touch ID. The premise of this new addition is simple, make unlocking and authorizing App Store & iTunes purchases as quick and easy as possible, which will result in a better experience for users. I happened to purchase the iPhone 5s earlier this morning, and I can honestly say I'm not disappointed at all with Touch ID.

Unboxing iPhone 5s And Blue iPhone 5c [VIDEO]

Tom Richardson·September 20, 2013
This morning, September 20th, Apple has started to sell the iPhone 5s to consumers queued up around the world. I trekked it off at 5am this morning to my local Apple Store to be one of the first to have access to the new Apple smartphone, and can say I'm definitely not disappointed with the two products I picked up. Now in my possession are the iPhone 5s in ‘Space Gray’, and the iPhone 5c in light blue.

Quickoffice For iOS And Android Goes Free, Sign Up Now For Free 10GB Drive Storage!

Ben Reid·September 20, 2013
Google's purchase of Quickoffice back in June last year raised more than a few eyebrows, but while the search giant has been somewhat busy with other projects over the past twelve or so months, today's announcement that Quickoffice will be free for both iOS and Android users will be music to ears of those looking to be productive on-the-fly. In a year that has seen Microsoft expand its own Office suite to iOS and Android, the Big G has now offering the Quickoffice service completely free, meaning consumers can actually edit Microsoft Office documents without having to pony up any money.

iOS 7 Lock Screen Bug Lets Anyone Access Emails, Photos And More, Here’s How To Fix It [VIDEO]

Ben Reid·September 20, 2013
Apple likes to pride itself on its solid record of keeping security flaws and potential malicious outbreaks down to a minimum, but with iOS 7 having scarcely been available for 24 hours, issues have already arisen pertaining the company’s latest and greatest. Apparently, sensitive information such as photos, Twitter info and email can be easily accessed and compromised behind a passcode-protected lock screen. This issue affects those on iOS 7 with Control Center enabled on the lock screen.

Even Cats Can Register And Unlock iPhone 5s Using Touch ID Fingerprint Sensor [VIDEO]

Ben Reid·September 19, 2013
The iPhone 5s has been blessed with perhaps the biggest hardware upgrade we've seen since the iPhone 4 replaced the iPhone 3GS back in 2010. But while many of the new implementations like the new processor and camera are certainly impressive, the marquee feature has to be the fingerprint sensor, which, when combined with the Touch ID software, allows a device to be unlocked or purchase to be authenticated with a simple finger tap. But while many iPhone fans are waiting on tenterhooks for the latest and greatest handset to become available, one cat (yes, a cat) has already tried out Touch ID with its paws. As it transpires, the feature, surprisingly, isn't restricted to humans.

iOS 7 Adoption Tops Latest Version Of Android By Huge Margin In 24 Hours Alone

Ben Reid·September 19, 2013
iOS 7 has been out for the best part of 24 hours now, and already, adoption rates have surpassed that of the latest version of Android, and is now on more than 26% of devices out there. Of course, with more Android devices in the world, this isn't the fairest of comparisons, but with more than one quarter of iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices running iOS 7, it's clear that Apple has the edge when it comes to getting its consumer base on the latest and greatest software.

Queues For iPhone 5s Have Already Started To Form Outside Flagship Apple Store In Regent Street London

Ben Reid·September 19, 2013
Apple's new iPhone launches always prompt those die-hard fans into camping and queuing for ungodly periods of time outside those iconic retail stores, and with the iPhone 5s being touted by many as the most significant such launch for many a year, it's unsurprising that queuing has been running pretty much all week. What's more, one London-based student - first in line to grab the new device at the Regent Street branch - is actually looking to sell his spot in line for up to £1000.
