Apple has just released the final GM (Gold Master) version of iOS 4.2 to developers! Only members enrolled in the iPhone Developer Standard or Enterprise Program can access these bits by signing into iOS Dev Center (aka Apple Developer Connection).
The iPhone Dev Team has just released an updated version 0.9.6b2 of Redsn0w which is based on Geohot’s limera1n exploit and it can jailbreak iOS 4.1 on iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G, iPad (on iOS 3.2.2) and iPod touch 4G / 3G / 2G (Non MC Model only). Besides, this new version also offers custom boot land recovery logos for the older devices like iPhone 3GS (old bootrom) iPod touch 2G (Non MC), and iPhone 3G, along with the ability to let Windows users restore to a custom IPSW files that are cooked using PwnageTool for Mac.
We reported recently of the iPad coming to Verizon. Well, starting from today, Verizon Wireless and AT&T will sell the iPad directly from their stores. The iPad will be sold in three different packages starting from $629 and going up to $829.

You can use it to cook custom firmware files without the upgraded (2.10.4 / 05.14.02) baseband for iPhone 4, 3GS and iPhone 3G running on iOS 4.1 so that you can unlock it using the existing version of Ultrasn0w. This version of PwnageTool also supports hacktivation.

This exploit enables this new version of PwnageTool to build custom firmware files for A4 devices like iPhone 4, iPad, Apple TV 2G and iPod touch 4G which was something, previously not possible.
