Nokia mightn't be alone in its quest to bring premium image and video-capturing capabilities to the smartphone industry, but the Finnish outfit is certainly the only one to have left DSLR manufacturers looking nervously over their shoulders. Yet Sony is very much renowned for its impressive array of cameras, and one could argue that it has a much more evolved reputation as a camera maker than a smartphone OEM. But playing to its strengths, it looks as though the eventual successor to the Xperia Z1 could up the ante as far as camera technology is concerned, with software discovered by ExperiaBlog seeming to suggest that it will bring 4K video to the fold.
I use the HTC One and iPhone 5s on a daily basis, and although there are other nice-looking handsets on the market, the general consensus is that these are two of the most beautiful currently available. But while the Apple flagship is merely four months old, the One is heading towards the latter stages of its tenure, and consumers are already eagerly waiting to see what's next from the Taiwanese company. A few rumors have been floating about with nothing really set in stone as yet, but a new HTC One M8 concept dreamt up by Google+ user Nikolai Prettner has well and truly blown us away. Check it out after the break!
After being originally teased back in October of last year, the Beats Music app is now available to download for iOS, Android and Windows Phone through the relevant app stores. Beats, a company who take their music very seriously, are describing the new service as a place being "curated by people who believe music is emotion and life". The differentiating factor that exists within Beats Music appears to be the fact that the app and service is built around musical customization that exists to try and present subscribers with a perfectly curated playlist of music based on their current tastes and moods.
Aside from the Apple iPhone, the Samsung Galaxy S series is easily the most talked-about smartphone on the market, and according to a new report, the Galaxy S5, which is due to be released at some point this year, will follow its Cupertino-made competitor by including a fingerprint scanner. The Touch ID feature, while not heavily lauded, has been adjudged by most to be a solid, worthy addition to the Apple iPhone 5s, and with Samsung always looking to expand and improve its roster with new and exciting marquee features, it would seem that the Korean company's next flagship will arrive with its own fingerprint-detecting technology.
We now have additional evidence to suggest that Samsung's recent decision to overhaul the user-interface in its PRO Galaxy Note and Galaxy Tab tablets could soon be followed up with a new look throughout. The fresh and modern magazine based design that graced the aforementioned devices definitely managed to capture the imagination of users, which can only be seen as a positive as it seems that upcoming Samsung smartphones will also benefit from a fresh lick of interface paint, as the latest leaked images show.
A Californian woman found herself the subject of litigation and national attention after having been caught and handed over ticket for driving whilst using Google’s Glass, but despite not being punished by court, the law remains ambiguous as to whether drivers can wear the search giant’s face computer. 42-year-old Cecilia Abadie shared the news of her now-revoked ticket via social media, but while she has been let off by judge for driving 85mph in her Toyota Prius while wearing Glass, it remains to be seen whether the act of using Glass while driving is actually against the law.
Android users, if I were to ask you which app genre do you find most abundant in the Google Play Store, a lot of your answers would match when it comes to Twitter third-party clients. They’re actually flooding the Play Store these days, and despite the 100,000 token limit that Twitter has imposed upon third-party apps, they continue to thrive with people utilizing the different experience that such apps bring to the fullest.
We may be waiting for Samsung to share its vision for the Galaxy S5, but that isn't stopping people from coming up with their own concepts of what the next big thing from the company will be like. The latest concept comes from Rozetked, with the idea being that the new handset would be some sort of amalgamation between an iPhone 5s and whatever Samsung has up its sleeve for the next Galaxy phone.
Nokia's supposed attempt at a mid-range Android handset, something that has been in the offing for quite a while now, was thrown into serious doubt after the Lumia maker was purchased by Microsoft late last year. But recent leaks have given us reason to believe that a device codenamed Normandy will indeed be the first from Nokia to run a variant of Google's flagship mobile OS. I say a variant because, from what we've seen, the interface is heavily modded to the point where it looks very much like the love-child of Windows Phone and Asha. Today, we've been treated to an even closer look thanks to press images from the ever-reliant Evleaks Twitter handle, and as well as that, we now have semi-confirmation of when Nokia will showcase Normandy.
If Android is your mobile OS of choice then it's highly likely that CyanogenMod has been on your radar for quite some time. The aftermarket firmware solution allows users to flash their Android powered devices to introduce features and offerings that aren't included in official builds of the open-source software.
