Samsung Caught Cheating Again With Galaxy Note 3 Benchmarks, Phil Schiller Calls It ‘Shenanigans’

Ben Reid·October 1, 2013
As soon as a new mobile device hits the market and even before, statisticians keenly run the hardware through a series of benchmark tests, which offer a fairly accurate idea of the general overall performance. In the past, we've seen evidence of Samsung rigging the International Galaxy S4's GPU to perform better when running these apps, and now, the folks of Ars Technica have concluded beyond doubt that the Korean company has been up to its tricks again with the Galaxy Note 3.

iPhone 5S vs Lumia 1020 – Low-Light Camera Comparison [Photos]

Oliver Haslam·September 30, 2013
Today's modern smartphones wear so many hats that it's often hard to truly compare them against each other. While it's true that at their core they are all indeed mobile phones, some are more like point and shoot cameras with built-in smartphone capabilities and others are powerhouse computers with a camera attached. When you're making your buying decision, many things have to be taken into account, but it's a fact of smartphone life that we are all taking photos on a daily basis, especially if you happen to be hooked on Instagram-ing everything you go near.

In-Store Pickup Option For iPhone 5s Returns To Online Apple Store Listing

Paul Morris·September 30, 2013
The iPhone 5s was yet another launch in the company's history that almost immediately became unavailable, with consumers seeing October as the next available shipping date. This year's introduction of offering iPhone 5s at a local Apple Retail Store pickup proved extremely popular with iPhone fans but stock levels - or the lack thereof - meant that the new option was almost instantly removed from Apple's site. It now seems that some consumers are reporting that the local pickup option is now available again through the official Apple Online Store.

Apple iPhone 5c [Video Review]

Tom Richardson·September 30, 2013
The iPhone 5s and the iPhone 5c are still hot off Apple's manufacture line, and we've already done a lot of coverage here on Redmond Pie on both of them. I need a little more time to consolidate my opinion regarding the iPhone 5s, but as the iPhone 5c mainly consists of the iPhone 5 components, I felt ready to bring you my full video review. You may also have missed some of our other coverage regarding each of the two handsets, so you'll be able to find all of it within this post.

MLB’s Testing Of iBeacon Shows Just Why Apple Didn’t Jump Onto The NFC Bandwagon

Oliver Haslam·September 29, 2013
A part of iOS 7 that has received next to no discussion but has the potential to be the biggest addition to the iOS feature set, iBeacon is Apple's attempt at taking location aware apps to the next level and, if the latest tests shown by Major League Baseball are anything to go by, then they might just be onto something.

Color Comparison: Space Gray iPhone 5S And Black & Slate iPhone 5 [Photo Gallery]

Uzair Ghani·September 27, 2013
At the time of my iPhone 5s purchase, I was really confused which color I should go for. Gold was hard to find, Silver isn’t really my thing, and Space Gray I thought would look exactly similar to the Black & Slate iPhone 5 that I already had for over a year. But when I unboxed my Space Gray iPhone 5, I was surprised at how different and appealing the new gray shade was.

iPad 5 Smart Covers In Multiple Covers Emerge Ahead Of October Launch [VIDEO]

Ben Reid·September 27, 2013
Apple's iPhone may have dominated the headlines over the past couple of weeks, but we're still expecting one or two more big announcements from Tim Cook's men. The iPad 5 has been a constant topic of conversation ever since, well.. the iPad 4's arrival toward the tail-end of last year, and with the iPad mini providing a stellar example of design and build quality, it is widely suspected that the fifth edition of the full-size model will borrow much of its aesthetic qualities from its compact cousin. New smart covers leaked to various channels seem to further corroborate this notion, and with any luck, an iPad mini-fied iPad 5 will be upon us at some point next month.
