The Cupertino technology giant, Apple, is reportedly testing smartphones with larger screens, according to a report from the Wall Street Journal. The famed news outlet bases the claim on its intel from component suppliers that the fruit company might be considering a considerable increase in the screen size for its iPhone lineup of devices for prototype units, but doesn’t forecast a release any time soon.
A leaked document has pegged a iOS 7 download and release date, along with that of iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C smartphones around third week of September, a date that makes sense based on prior years' release schedules.
With September 10th fast approaching and Apple now officially confirming that it will hold an event on that date, all the focus and attention is squarely on what will be announced at the company's Cupertino HQ. Up until now all the talk has been about the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C, both of which are expected to be shown off publicly for the first time on the 10th, with a release happening less than two weeks later. But there may be more to it than that.
Know what's cooler than an iPhone announcement event? Two iPhone announcement events, and that's exactly what Apple has on the books for the 10th and 11th of September.
With Apple having sent out official event invites for their September 10th iPhone event only a while back, there’s little doubt left that Apple will in fact be debuting two different iPhone models this fall, including the iPhone 5S and the cheaper iPhone 5C. Now, we have what can only be termed as an almost-confirmed leaked image of what the latter, the iPhone 5C, would look like, courtesy of Evleaks.
So here we are, only a week away from Apple’s iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C announcement. Apple has already sent event invites for its September 10th iPhone event, a date that the internet as a whole seems to have designated 'new iPhone day.'
As the tech world preoccupies itself with soon-to-be-announced iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S, Apple has just begun rolling out its annual discounts to students preparing to go back to school. The promotion, which runs every year, sees some of the most popular charting albums reduced in price, and while it's not exactly educational, it does enable those with presumably less disposable cash to indulge in some new music.
Apple is set to announce the low-cost iPhone 5C alongside the new flagship on September 10th, and with very little time between now and then, we're seeing a lot more by way of seemingly legitimate leaks. Yesterday, we caught a glimpse of the manual to be bundled in the iPhone 5C packaging, and now, more images, as well as a video, offer even more insight into the handset as well as the casing it will be shipped in when it makes retail.
The iPhone 5C, Apple's first attempt at offering a budget device, is expected to be unveiled alongside the new flagship iPhone 5S at a special event to be held on September 10th, and we've seen many leaks and sightings of the polycarbonate-enclosed handset already. But today, via French blog Nowhererlse, an image has emerged of what is claimed to be the device packaged in its retail casing ahead of shipment.
We first heard a few days back that Apple would begin an iPhone trade-in program around the time of the release of the next-gen handsets, a move designed to boost general sales of the device from the company's own retail stores rather than partners. Today, the service has come into full effect and now, consumers will be able to trade-in their old devices in part-exchange for a gleaming new handset.
