How To Get Siri Dictation On iPad 2 And iPad 1

Paul Morris·May 14, 2012
In the ever-expanding and ever-changing world of consumer technology, less is more, meaning that achieving certain end-results by exerting less effort is definitely something that appeals to users. We are beginning to see this way of thinking make its way into our gadgets through the use of quick and simple gestures, apps and tweaks that automate certain tasks, as well as the production and development of software like Apple's Siri assistant.

This Tweak Displays Comprehensive Battery Information Within iOS 5 Notification Center

The release of the innovative Dashboard X tweak has given a new lease of life to all of those Notification Center based widgets that have been sitting stagnant in the add-ons section of Cydia. Considering Notification Center can only display a certain number of widgets by design, users generally have to choose the ones that are most important to their usage patterns. Dashboard X ensures that those widgets can now be used outside of their original scope, leaving users free to add more to their home screen.

How To Enable Siri Location Based Searches, Maps And Directions In Unsupported Countries

Paul Morris·May 13, 2012
Regardless of whether you love it or hate it, Apple has pumped a lot of time, money and resources into the development and release of the Siri virtual assistant. And with rumors that the Siri API will be opened up to developers with the release of iOS 6, Siri is definitely here to stay. In my opinion, there is no reason why someone wouldn't want to have Siri installed on their device, after all, for those who choose to use it, the assistant can be extremely helpful in a lot of situations. And for those who don't wish to bother with it, it doesn't intrude in any way whatsoever.

This Tweak For iOS Lets You Pin Your Favorite Contacts Directly On Your iPhone’s Home Screen

Paul Morris·May 13, 2012
Although some people might not like to admit it, out of all our friends and family members, we all have our favorite ones which we hold in higher regard than others. Obviously we don't go around shouting it from the top of hilltops, but the game is given away when we check the 'Favorites' section of the iPhone's Phone app. Some of us try and spare the feelings of others by saying it just contains the people we contact the most, but deep down we all know its because they are our favorite people.

Seas0nPass Updated To Tether-Jailbreak Apple TV 2G On The New 5.0.1 (9B206F) Firmware

Paul Morris·May 12, 2012
Apple have only recently pushed out their latest update for the second and third-generation Apple TV, but already the ever reliable and always hard working development teams have been at work implementing their packages in order to bring the public a tethered jailbreak for Apple's puck like set-top box.

Pod2g’s Untether Confirmed To Be Working On iOS 5.1.1

Whenever Apple releases a new version of their mobile operating system, the jailbreak loving public inevitably greet it with a mix of jubilation and hesitation. Investigating the firmware to see what features and upgrades Apple have added is obviously part of the fun, but knowing that they can't immediately upgrade to it through fear of not being able to jailbreak their device for an indeterminate period of time is the downside of such a situation.

Apple TV 5.0.1 Software Update Build 9B206F Now Available For Download

Paul Morris·May 11, 2012
You could be forgiven for thinking that the Apple TV set-top box isn't a very popular gadget amongst consumers, after all, it doesn't really receive a great deal of attention thanks to being overshadowed by the insane popularity of the iPhone and iPad. With Tim Cook calling the little black puck a "hobby", it's evident that they aren't placing as much emphasis on it as they are on other products, but that doesn't detract from the fact that they have shipped well over 3 million units.

When talking about popular social networking-based tweaks, TwitkaFly is the one which pops into our minds at first, designed and developed by iOS developer Moeseth. The basis of the extension is quite simple when installed, it allows jailbroken users to invoke a modal pop-up window to quickly send out a tweet to the Twitter network.

Paul Morris·May 10, 2012
For those iOS device owning social networking fans out there, the time has come to head on over to the App Store and see for yourself the direction which Google has decided to take with their iOS version of the Google+ app. After already going through a number of updates since initial launch, Google haven't really wowed anyone with their Google+ mobile app, but version 2.0 of the said app will definitely up the game a bit.
