Day-to-day computer usage is definitely better when it is organized and all happenings and notifications are reliably fed back to the user to keep them in the loop with what is going on, which is probably one of the reasons why the Growl Mac app is so popular with OS X users. If you aren't familiar with the existence of Growl, then the developers proudly refer to it as the ultimate notification system for the Mac.

At one point in time, I am pretty sure that we have all been guilty of some kind of procrastination or complacency when it comes to just biting the bullet and getting things done. We all have things we need to do, goals we want to achieve and aspects of our lives that we would like to improve upon, whether that be in a personal or professional capacity. Some individuals are born with the required amount of grit, determination and motivation to succeed, whereas others sometimes need a little help in planning things that will ultimately make their lives that little bit better.
If you can recall, a few months back we brought you information about a rather impressive little piece of software, which allowed any compatible iOS device to be mirrored to your Mac or PC’s display for the ultimate gaming experience. The aforementioned app, AirServer, can be thought of in the same way as using an Apple TV to display or stream content from an iPhone, iPad or Mountain Lion powered Mac to a TV or monitor.
Samsung is up to their old tricks again and have released a new ad on the Samsung Mobile USA YouTube channel, which, once again attempts to poke fun at those Apple hardware fans who religiously queue up outside of official retail stores to get their hands on the latest iPhone. With the iPhone 5 due for an official public release this coming Friday, Samsung's marketing departments have taken the opportunity to have a pop shot at those loyal Apple fans who value the company and their product so much.
The iPhone 5 is set for a general public release in two days time, and overnight, we have started to see some reviews being published from those who were lucky enough to get their hands on the review and testing units. The reviews are obviously a great resource for people who are considering exchanging their hard earned cash for an iPhone 5, but there will also be a lot of people who are wondering about the actual performance of the device when using it in a real-world environment for everyday tasks.
With the holiday shopping season almost upon us, the chances are that consumers have been looking for something to spend their hard earned cash on to fill in the additional time that they find themselves with over the long winter nights. Sony have risen to the challenge by taking the opportunity during their Tokyo Games Show to announce a newly redesigned PlayStation 3 that will be available almost immediately for console fans to get their hands on. Although, essentially packing the same power as the original console, the new PS3 is 25% lighter than the current PlayStation 3 Slim model and 50% lighter than the original model.
I don't know about the rest of you, but I happen to enjoy a tale of good overcoming evil and watching the light shine through the darkness as a new dawn begins. My need to see a happy ending means that I tend to watch movies that take the viewer through a roller-coaster ride of emotions that ultimately ends off with a positive ending, which could be partly why I love movie adaptations of comic books so much. One of the biggest movies of this year was undoubtedly The Dark Knight Rises and the release of the new Blue-ray trailer confirms that we should be good for a December 3rd high-definition release onto DVD.
There is no doubt about the fact that Nokia's recently announced Lumia 920 is going to make a serious splash in the smartphone market when it is eventually released to the public. The gorgeous design and inclusion of Windows Phone 8 makes it a very attractive prospect for those looking to acquire a new device, and that is before you even start to take into account the addition of native Augmented Reality features and fantastic little inclusions like wireless charging based on the Qi Standard.
There’s no better stress reduction tool than taking control of something that you can fling at other objects in order to bring about total annihilation and creating utter chaos as you do it. Luckily for the designers and developers over at Rovio, they understood our need to break stuff and brought the fantastic Angry Birds title to our mobile and desktop devices which in turn catapulted them to the top of the iOS, OS X and Android charts. So what do you do after gaining so much success with a bunch of rage-filled birds? You take the next logical step, turn the tables around and release Bad Piggies.
If the old saying bigger is always better is actually true, then it looks like HTC could be onto a winner with one of their latest pieces of hardware. We've been expecting HTC to announce something big (literally) for a while now and have even caught the odd glimpse of some prototype images that have been doing the rounds on the web for the last few weeks. As we brace ourselves for public release of the iPhone 5 at the end of this week, we can also get our hopes up about a great new HTC smartphone, possibly carrying the One X 5 moniker.
