It wouldn't be a Friday, or indeed any other day of the week if someone, somewhere wasn't waxing lyrical about why Apple will, or indeed will not release a 5-inch iPhone. Everyone's at it, and we're no different here at Redmond Pie, which is why I'm about to drag you through a few hundred words of sheer opinion and conjecture on the subject.

Oliver Haslam has written about technology for over a decade. His work has been published in print at Macworld and online pretty much everywhere else. If it plugs in or has a battery, it's fair game.
Ubuntu is trying desperately to transition from hugely popular enthusiast platform to mainstream competitor for Mac OS X and Windows. It's fair to say that it has had limited success in doing that so far, but much is resting on the latest big release of Ubuntu, which is almost comically called 13.04 - Raring Ringtail.
The next big game in the Call of Duty franchise - Call of Duty: Ghosts - has leaked, over six months before it is due to go on sale.
Many in the music industry may have hated it back when it launched, and some probably still do, but it's arguable that Apple's iTunes Store actually saved music. Google has proven in the past that the search giant is not shy about releasing its apps on iOS. The company fought long and hard to get some of its apps onto its perceived competitor's devices, but with Google's business model relying on everyone using the internet as much as possible, it's little wonder that it simply wants to make that as easy, and as enjoyable as possible.
Facebook's been very busy of late. It launched a Facebook-centric phone with the help of HTC, and it has pushed out all manner of updates for the Android and iOS apps, partly in order to add support for Facebook Home. There's Chat Heads too, along with the less well publicized addition of the new Facebook Stickers.
Whatever your thoughts on Windows Phone 8 might be, it's hard to argue that it doesn't hold a lot of potential. In a world where iOS and Android rule the roost, it's refreshing to see something like Windows Phone, whether it's your choice of mobile operating system or not. The undoubted problem with Windows Phone though, is its lack of quality apps.
