The new Touch ID fingerprint sensor mightn't have reached the new iPad Air and Retina iPad mini as some had predicted and hoped, but iPhone 5s users are still getting to grips with what is an exciting implementation. Being a new implementation and all, this learning curve is proving difficult to some, and considering the feature itself is rather unrefined, it's only natural that users should experience a few failed attempts when trying to pass their lock screen using Touch ID. If you're growing a little frustrated by the sensor's inability to read your fingerprint in a timely manner, neat little trick published over at the Huff Post could help make Touch ID just that little bit more efficient. Details, as ever, can be found after the fold.

Crowdfunding sites like Indiegogo and Kickstarter are a great way for individuals and groups to take an idea to the masses, and in the past few years, we've seen some truly weird, wonderful and genuinely innovative products and services grow from a simple video and description to items used by millions. As impressed as we've been, a new iPhone/Android-controlled paper Airplane proves once again that we can be surprised and inspired all at one, and when you've seen the clip of it in action, you'll see why it has already smashed its funding goal several times over with over eight weeks still to run.
Microsoft's Surface RT has not been the most successful of tablets since its release late last year, and although a myriad of factors have contributed to its shortcoming in the market, the fact is that tens of thousands of units remain unsold. As such, Microsoft has already dropped the price on a couple of occasions to try and boost sales, but with today being Black Friday and all, Micro Center has come through with an exceptional deal offering both the Surface RT and a Touch Cover for just $179.
Mobile devices have come a long way since the iPhone took the market by storm back in 2007, and as well as offering powerful apps, better games and enhanced overall functionality, point-and-shoot photography has also benefited from improved camera capabilities.
Although the PlayStation 4 might have released a week earlier than its Microsoft-made rival in the United States, the opposite is true in the UK, where tonight, avid gamers will begin queuing for Sony's latest and greatest console. But while Microsoft has indicated that the Xbox One is built to last and should see out the next ten or so years, Sony's UK boss has suggested that the PS4 mightn't even manage the lifespan of its predecessor, the PS3, which released some seven years ago.
A man in Thailand is reported to have died after receiving a strong electric shock from his iPhone 4s, which he was using while it was on charge. The Thai man, who is reckoned to have been in the process of making a call when the incident occurred, was pronounced dead after being electrocuted, according to reports out of Thailand.
Dual-SIM smartphones seldom see the light of day in the western world, but the newly-updated HTC One includes two SIM card slots - ideal for frequent travellers, business and pleasure separators or those leading double lives. It's about to hit the UK market for £494.99, which is just a fraction more than the standard edition, and for those who've been waiting for a decent dual-SIM handset to hit the scene, the highly revered HTC One is probably your guy.
The iPad mini, which was recently given a Retina display and improved processor by Apple, is one of the most sought-after tablets on the market right now. As is the case with most new Apple products, the knock-off makers have been hot on its trail to deliver something similar for a lower price, and although the Chuwi V88's 1024 x 768 display puts it on par with the old iPad mini, the $177 price tag - coupled with the fact that it boasts some fairly useful specs - means it might be worth checking out for those seeking something like the iPad mini without the iPad mini price.
Although Apple has caved on a few products we never thought would see the light of day from Cupertino - the iPad mini, for instance - the Californian company has never been one to jump aboard the bandwagon. Features such as the larger display and LTE took a while to manifest, while other widely-implemented smartphone attributes such as NFC still have yet to hit the Apple smartphone. Wireless charging, popular with premium Windows Phone and Android devices, is just another feature that some iPhone users have sought for while now, and tired of waiting for Apple to get its backside into gear, one start-up IndieGoGo project has taken matters into its own hands with a neat, low-cost solution.
Black Friday is quickly approaching, and with so many tech deals already announced by numerous retail outlets, consumers are going to have a real struggle deciding which are worthy of their hard-earned dollars. Microsoft has thrown up its own little headache in the Black Friday dilemma by announcing a series of Xbox 360 Game Store price-cuts. Yes, that is Xbox 360, as opposed to the just-released Xbox One. What, you weren't hoping Microsoft would begin dropping prices this early on in the day, were you?
