Apple’s 2020 iPad Pro Refresh Rumored To Arrive “Around March”

We’ve been expecting Apple to release a refreshed line of iPad Pros at some point this year, likely around November time. But a new report by the always iffy DigiTimes now has that happening considerably soon. How does next month sound?

According to the report, we can expect the announcement to come “around March,” which means we could be seeing a new iPad Pro lineup in just a few short weeks. March would make sense if Apple is indeed to hold a spring event and we’ve been hearing that the iPhone 9 would launch in March for months.

However, even with a launch supposedly around the corner, DigiTimes says that mass production hasn’t yet ramped up to full speed, likely thanks to the ongoing coronavirus situation in China.

Apple is scheduled to launch its new ‌iPad Pro‌ series around March, with related suppliers already kicking off production for the model ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday. However, their output has started growing slowly after the extended Lunar New Year break in China with shipments unlikely to peak until after April, according to industry sources.

It’s unlikely that Apple would announce the iPad Pro refresh via an event with nothing else to show off. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has recently claimed that the iPhone 9 release is still on schedule for the first half of 2020. Could everything align for a simultaneous launch?
