Apple Updates Pages, Numbers, And Keynote For iOS 14 / iPadOS 14 With New Features

Apple has released updates for its entire iWork suite of apps, bringing new features to Pages, Numbers, and Keynote. All three apps now take advantage of the new features that are offered by iOS 14 and iPadOS 14, too.

Many of those new features include support for Apple Pencil’s Scribble mode, allowing users to write directly onto the screen and have iPadOS turn that into text on the fly. It’s a great feature for those who don’t want to have to keep switching between their Apple Pencil and a keyboard.

Pages has also received new, editable shapes among other things.

  • Use Scribble to write by hand with Apple Pencil, and your words will automatically convert to text. Requires iPadOS 14.
  • Select from new report templates to help you get started.
  • Enhance your documents with a variety of new, editable shapes.
  • Easily find pictures and videos using new zoom and search capabilities in the redesigned image picker. Requires iOS 14 or iPadOS 14.

In terms of Numbers, forms are now more easily customized and performance has been tweaked to improve how large tables handle themselves in-app.

  • Forms are now easier to create and customize. Add a form to any table or use the new Basic Form template.

Keynote has the larger collection of changes, including support for both YouTube and Vimeo videos that can now be played right from inside a presentation for the first time.

  • Use the new Outline View to focus on the structure and flow of your content without other distractions.
  • Play YouTube and Vimeo videos right in your presentations.*
  • Movie export now supports a wide selection of formats and frame rates.

  • Enhance your presentations with a variety of new, editable shapes.
