Apple TV+ Becomes First Streaming Service To Get Golden Globe Nominations In Launch Year Thanks To ‘The Morning Show’

Apple’s Apple TV+ streaming service has become the first to receive a Golden Globe nomination in its launch year. And to make things even better, it’s got a few of them.

All of the nominations relate to The Morning Show, with the winners set to be announced on January 5th, 2020.

Apple today received its first-ever Golden Globe nominations from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA), including Best Television Series, Drama, for Apple’s global hit “The Morning Show” and dual nominations for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series, Drama, for “The Morning Show” stars and executive producers Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon. The awards will be presented at the 77th Annual Golden Globe Awards on January 5, 2020.

Apple TV+ has only been around for two months, making this quite the debut for a show that initially received very mixed reviews from critics. But while viewers have found the show to be much more impressive than critics, receiving multiple Golden Globe nominations at this stage is mighty impressive.

The nominations include:

  • Best TV Series – Drama – “The Morning Show”
  • Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Drama – Jennifer Aniston in “The Morning Show”
  • Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Drama – Reese Witherspoon in “The Morning Show”

We don’t have to wait all that long before we get to find out whether any of these nominations will turn into wins. Apple will surely be hoping that they do.
