Apple Reportedly Has New ‘Breakthrough Battery Technology’ For An Apple Car Production In 2024

Rumors are again abound that Apple is working on a car of some sort, with a Reuters report saying that the company will have production underway in 2024. Part of that production will include a new type of battery technology, according to the report.

We’ve heard a lot of Project Titan over the years with rumors last year suggesting Apple had decided not to produce its own cars but to instead partner with a traditional auto maker.

Apple would then provide the software and self-driving components. However, the latest Reuters report suggests things have now changed again.

It remains unclear who would assemble an Apple-branded car, but sources have said they expect the company to rely on a manufacturing partner to build vehicles. And there is still a chance Apple will decide to reduce the scope of its efforts to an autonomous driving system that would be integrated with a car made by a traditional automaker, rather than the iPhone maker selling an Apple-branded car, one of the people added.

Part of Apple’s design is said to include a new type of battery technology, allowing for a longer period before charging. Range anxiety has always been something that has caused people to worry about going electric but that might change if Apple can offer something new in the battery department.

At this point Project Titan has been around for many years with the scope of the projecting changing considerably. We’ll believe that an Apple Car is a thing when we see one in being collected by a customer. Until then, it’s all a bit too AirPower-like for our liking.
