Apple Maps Transit Directions Are Now Live In Iceland

Icelandic users are in luck! As Apple continues to increase the reach of its new maps and map data, and it has now also enabled transit directions in Iceland, with bus routes in and around Reykjavik now enabled.

Anyone in the capital – and surrounding areas – can now choose public transport routes when planning trips for the first time.

The feature is rolling out to other places around the globe as Apple Maps continues to improve.

Apple first started adding transit information to the Maps app in 2015 but it has taken time for it to roll out to some places. Plenty of other countries and cities still don’t have it, so it’s good to see another capital get in on the act.

Apple has a whole webpage designed to show users which specific features are available in certain areas and you can check whether your own area is included. If not, hold tight – Apple is clearly focused on making sure that its own mapping data is at least comparable to the always impressive Google Maps.

Apple Maps is available on iPhone, iPad, Mac, and the web just like Google Maps. It’s installed by default on all new devices, too.
