Apple Launches A Repair Program For Apple Watch Series 6 Devices With Blank Screens

Apple has initiated a new repair program for Apple Watch Series 6 devices that display a blank screen constantly.

Affected devices were manufactured between April 2021 and September 2021 and Apple is now offering people the chance to get their wearable serviced free of charge.

The new repair program was first spotted by MacRumors and Apple is now offering a webpage that will allow people to enter their serial number to check if their device is part of the program or not.

Apple has determined that the screen on a very small percentage of 40mm Apple Watch Series 6 devices may go blank permanently. Affected devices were manufactured between April 2021 to September 2021.

If your Apple Watch Series 6 has exhibited this issue, please use the serial number checker below to see if your device is eligible for this program. If so, Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider will provide service, free of charge.

Apple notes that the repair program doesn’t cover any other Apple Watch, so those who have a different model and are experiencing problems should go through the usual Apple Support route.

Apple runs these kinds of repair programs when it discovers an issue that is affecting specific versions of products or a batch that was produced during a timeframe that has a defective part.
