Apple Celebrates International Women’s Day With A Special Today At Apple Series, Here Are The Details

Apple has announced that it will be celebrating International Women’s Day by hosting more than 5,000 special Today at Apple sessions around the world.

Titled “She Creates,” the events will highlight female creators across multiple categories.

Those categories will include business, design, photography, music, film, and music. All of the sessions will be led by women including “co-chair of the Women’s March Linda Sarsour, musicians Meghan Trainor and Victoria Monét, designer Carla Fernández, and many more.”

“Celebrating the work, spirit and contributions of women is so important to Apple,” said Deirdre O’Brien, Apple’s senior vice president of Retail + People. “We’re thrilled to recognize International Women’s Day through the ‘She Creates’ programming series and bring these experiences to our stores so everyone can be inspired by some of the world’s most passionate and innovative creators.”

Alongside the new events, Apple has also added a new section to the Apple TV app that includes collections from women “who are changing the narrative through storytelling across the movie and TV landscape.”

“On March 8, International Women’s Day, a new curated collection on Apple Podcasts called “Changing the Narrative” will feature podcasts celebrating women podcasters, shows and stories. Apple Books will feature exceptional women recommending their favorite books.” the company confirmed via press release. The App Store will also highlight the work of female designers, developers, and entrepreneurs, too.

Apple will also be giving a special Apple Watch Activity award to anyone who carries out a 20-minute activity (or more) on International Women’s Day.
