Analysts Expect 4 OLED iPhones In 2020 With As Much As 6GB Of RAM

The 2020 iPhone lineup already seems complicated if you listen to recent rumors, but two analysts believe we can expect as many as four iPhones with OLED screens. And they’ll have as much as 6GB of RAM, too.

In a research note picked up by MacRumors, UBS analysts Timothy Arcuri and Munjal Shah say we can expect all kinds of things this year.

  • 6.7-inch iPhone: triple-lens rear camera with 3D sensing and 6GB of RAM
  • 6.1-inch iPhone: triple-lens rear camera with 3D sensing and 6GB of RAM
  • 6.1-inch iPhone: dual-lens rear camera and 4GB of RAM
  • 5.4-inch iPhone: dual-lens rear camera and 4GB of RAM

Much of that already matches rumors we’ve been hearing in recent months, and it makes sense that the two higher-end models would have more RAM, especially to take the best advantage of those three cameras and 3D-sensing tech.

Presumably, those 6GB models will be the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Max, while the smaller iPhones will be the more budget options. Naming remains to be confirmed, though.

The state of 5G is also up in the air here, too. We’ve heard rumors that the faster mmWave 5G technology will only make an appearance in the high-end iPhones, with those being delayed until early next year. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has since refuted that, however. We’d expect to start hearing more and more about what these iPhones will have on the inside in the coming weeks and months, though.
