AirPods Max Cushions Can Magnetically Attach, Apple To Offer Replacements In Different Colors For Mix And Match

Apply only just announced its AirPods Max headphones today but it’s already getting set to make replacement ear cushions available.

You can’t buy them just yet, but they’re already up on the online Apple Store priced at $69 for the pair.

What makes these ear cushions so interesting is the fact that they are held in place using magnets. That makes them super easy to swap out and could mean that buyers customize their AirPods Max in ways other headphones simply don’t offer.

From the canopy to the ear cushions, every part of AirPods Max is carefully crafted to provide exceptional acoustic performance for each user. The breathable knit mesh canopy, spanning the headband, is made to distribute weight and reduce on-head pressure. The stainless steel headband frame provides strength, flexibility, and comfort for a wide variety of head shapes and sizes. Telescoping headband arms smoothly extend and stay in place to maintain the desired fit.

The replacement cushions are available in all the same colors as the AirPods Max are when buying new, meaning users can either replace their color like-for-like or go with something funky.

At $69 there’s no denying these things aren’t cheap, but people do pay more than that for new Apple Watch bands so there’s no telling how popular these things could be.

There’s also no telling when they’ll be available to buy, but we can’t imagine it’s too far away.
