Report: Don’t Expect Anything Innovative During Next Week’s Apple Event

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman says that we shouldn’t expect anything “particularly innovative” or “extraordinary” when Apple holds its Spring Loaded event on Tuesday, April 20.

The event was confirmed earlier this week after weeks of rumors, but we shouldn’t get our hopes up for anything huge being announced according to Gurman.

The remarks came during an interview for Bloomberg Technology, with Gurman again saying that a new 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro will be announced as part of the event.

The larger of the two will make use of a new mini-LED technology that has also been heavily rumored for more than a year at this point. Beyond that, the iPad Pro isn’t expected to be a huge update beyond improved CPUs etc.

Apple is also expected to finally take the wraps off its Tile-like trackers, AirTags. That’s a rumor that’s now been running for more than a year and it has to come to fruition at some point. Whether it will be next week, however, remains to be seen.

The event itself will take place at 10:00am Pacific Time on Tuesday, April 20 and it can be streamed via Apple’s website, YouTube, or the Apple TV app.
