What Apple CarPlay Could Look Like In Tesla Vehicles [Video]

As great as Tesla cars can be, there is still one glaring omission that hasn’t been fixed – the impressive cars don’t support Apple CarPlay. That despite having a large 14-inch center console in cars like the Model 3 and Model Y.

As is so often the case when something doesn’t exist, one concept designed has created it. It’s just a shame this is only a concept.

Graphic designer John Calkins has created a concept that shows how great CarPlay could look if it was running on Tesla’s display – specifically, one in a Model 3.

The concept is available in stills and a YouTube video and it’s stunning. It shows a split-screen display that would allow users to continue to see all of the important Tesla data, including speed and controls for functions, while still making use of the apps and features afforded by CarPlay, including support for Apple Music and more.

People have long said that driving a Tesla is like having an iPad stuck to the dashboard and that has never been more the case than with this concept. Check it out for yourself and we’re pretty sure you’ll agree that adding CarPlay support should be pretty high on the list of things Tesla needs to work on.

Just so long as it looks and works like this concept, that is.
