This Might Be Our First Real Look At An iPhone 12 Pro Chassis

We aren’t expecting Apple to show off the iPhone 12 or iPhone 12 Pro at next week’s special event, but we might have just gotten a look at the latter anyway. At least, we might have seen the device’s chassis.

That’s after one appeared in a video posted to Twitter by EverythingApplePro.

It’s said to be the chassis from an iPhone 12 Pro and it shows much of what we’re expecting from this year’s lineup. That includes the flat sides similar to the iPad Pro as well as cutouts for magnets. We aren’t quite sure what those magnets are going to be for just yet, but our interest is definitely piqued.

We also see what appears to be space for a LiDAR Scanner, suggesting the time-of-flight sensor will make its way to the iPhone 12 Pro. We’d previously heard rumblings that the feature might only be part of the larger iPhone 12 Pro Max, but that doesn’t appear to be the case.

Next week’s special event looks set to be for new Apple Watches and iPads, rather than anything iPhone-related. That would mean another event will take place next month with iPhones delayed due to manufacturing issues related to the coronavirus pandemic. Whenever they’re shown off, two iPhone 12 and two iPhone 12 Pro models are expected to be announced with screen sizes ranging from 5.4 inches all the way to 6.7 inches. We can’t wait!
