Looks like the jailbreak devs are really on top of their game just now, and those lengthy waits for teased tweaks to be released seem a distant memory as the gurus behind them fall over each other for the attention of the millions of new jailbreakers.
Everyday, many tweaks are released via the iconic Cydia Store, enabling those are jailbroken to really get the most from there devices. In a way, it allows iOS to run the way it always should have been.
We have now been living with Siri since October 2011 when the iPhone 4S was made available for public consumption. There is no denying that Siri is a powerful addition to a mobile device, with the intelligent voice assistant being able to analyze voice commands and perform specific tasks based on this audible user instruction. But it seems as if the jury is still out on Siri by a lot of people, with a portion of user citing the lack of scope as reason.
The iPhone 4S-owning world have been enjoying the many benefits of Siri for over three months now, taking advantage of all of the features which the next generation intelligent assistant provides. Such was the hype surrounding Siri, that we have even seen a number of applications trying to enter the Android Market, trying to pass themselves off as the real thing before being pulled from sale by Google.
In the last three months the world has gone Siri mad. We've had jailbreak tweaks, GUI ports, proxy servers, YouTube videos and even the inevitable Suri Cruise parody video making its way around the web. I'm pretty sure Apple expected the new digital assistant to be popular, but I don't think even they could envisage just how many people would actually want the intelligent software on their older generation devices.
For those who follow the developments within the automation and control industry you will no doubt be familiar with Crestron, one of the leading providers of control and automation equipment who have systems in homes, hospitals, offices and schools around the world.
Apple's decision to make Siri an iPhone 4S-only affair caused much consternation amongst iPhone 4 owners as well as those owning an iPad 2.
Studies are everywhere, and chances are if you look hard enough you can find a study on just about anything, and to support your particular point of view. It's the beauty of the internet!
Apple's launch of Siri certainly made people sit up and take notice. There had been voice recognition and dictation apps before, even Siri in its earliest incarnation was a standalone app that offered some of the features we all now take for granted from our iPhone 4S devices.
Since the public release of iOS 5 in October, a number of tweaks have appeared on Cydia which offer the ability to hook into iOS 5-only functions, with the most popular by far being the the new Notification Center. I can only assume most developers have been literally chomping at the bit to put their skills to the test in order to see what they can do with the new Siri technology.
