We’ve just come across a brilliant GIF of how the iPad has evolved since its release in 2010. Fans across the world cannot help but marvel at how slim the iPad Air 2 actually is at 6.1mm, considering the firepower it carries in that sleek shell.
The moment we all have been waiting for is finally here! Apple CEO Tim Cook has just taken the stage at Cupertino, which obviously means the iPad / Mac event has begun. Cook has kicked off things by announcing a number of stats and updates regarding Apple’s performance over the past year.
Tips to speed up iOS 8 on your iPhone 4s, iPad 2, iPad mini and other devices. Pretty much akin to how every new major release of iOS slowly eats away at, at least one generation of supported devices, the iPhone 4s and older-gen iPads have fallen right into that infamous generation of 'too slow' devices. If you have upgraded your older device to iOS 8 and are really feeling that slowing down of time, there are a couple of steps you can take to speed up your device. Read on after the jump for the details.
Talk of an enlarged, so-called "iPad Pro" has been rife for about a year now, but with the likes of the Microsoft Surface Pro and Samsung's Galaxy TabPro having rolled out in that time, there's a genuine feeling that Apple is finally poised to counter with a similar effort of its own. The slate, which will apparently include a 12.9-inch display, remains something of an enigma, but a new report cites the usual sources familiar by claiming that it will run a hybrid operating system combining bits of iOS and OS X into one.
Although the blogosphere is currently inundated with news of the next-gen iPhone 6, it's also suspected that the iPad line-up will be in receipt of its customary refresh later on this year. Aside from the more obvious matter of the improved processor -- both the iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3 are expected to adopt the all-new Apple 8 SoC -- both of the fruit company's flagship slates will also benefit from an improved Touch ID fingerprint sensor, in what is already stacking up as a fairly substantial hardware upgrade. Now, it has emerged that the larger of the two Apple slabs may be kitted out with 2GB of RAM, and given that the next-gen Retina mini is expected to remain at 1GB, it'll help to give the larger, more prominent model the technical edge over its smaller cousin.
You know you've truly made it when you're the butt of the joke on something like Conan O'Brien's late night TV show, and Apple has found itself in that particular position on more than a few occasions. We're not sure the folks in Cupertino will be laughing quite so hard though.
There are plenty of different ways that an individual can embrace security to make the home, office - or any other location - a lot more secure. Each possible area of entry, such as doors, windows or garages, can be fortified to ensure that it's extremely difficult for an intruder to breach. Alternatively, it's also possible to purchase and integrate security cameras that can monitor and record the property at all times. That option can sometimes prove to be a little too expensive. For those of us who have an extra iPhone lying around, the Manything home security webcam app is an entirely free-of-charge solution that lets you use a spare iPhone as a video surveillance camera.
Off the back of Apple's deal with IBM to further the presence of products like the iPhone and iPad in enterprise environments, Apple CEO Tim Cook has suggested that he completes around four-fifths, or 80 percent of his work using only the company's famed iPad tablet. In addition, he's also of the opinion that everybody should be able to do likewise, and with laptops still comfortably outnumbering tablets in the business world, hopes that Apple and IBM's new-found allegiance can help to tip the balance.
Apple's iPad is among the most coveted in the tablet game, and given that the Cupertino outfit is credited with forging this now-lucrative market, this is to be expected. However, while it's a well-made device - as is the case with most hardware out of Cupertino - the nickel element of its metal finish is apparently causing irritation on the skin of young children coming into contact with the slate.
We place a great deal of importance on our mobile devices in this day and age, and you only have to look at the scrum of eager consumers at ever iPhone launch to realize that Apple lovers take their gadgets very seriously indeed. But whilst it is often said of the iPhone's appeal that consumers would "sell a kidney" to get hold of the latest handset, it's not a phrase that we actually take to heart, but unfortunately, one young lady has tragically died in trying to keep hold of her iPad.
