Early last month, jailbreak developer Evan Swick took the wraps of OS Experience, an intriguing tweak that purported to offer true, windowed multitasking on iPad akin to OS X. Now, said tweak has just been made available to the general public, and below, we've all the necessary details.
It's a well-known fact that no fewer than 99 percent of the Web's video content consists of pets doing crazy things, and an interesting new compilation sees some of our favorite animals showcase their skills on the Apple iPad.
Samsung and Apple are frequently at loggerheads in the courtrooms over numerous patent disputes, but while it has been established that both companies are unafraid to file a lawsuit or two, the two parties don't always require the means of a court in order to get their respective points across. Often, Samsung will use an ad campaign to take a few not-so-subtle pot-shots at its biggest adversary, and in a plethora of new advertisements, has had yet another dig at the Apple iPad. There are four in total, with one even taking a swipe at the Amazon Kindle, and you can check them out after the break!
Back in the era of Steve Jobs, the Apple iPad was always touted as a post-PC device, but aside from partially replacing the traditional desktop / notebook as we know it, the Cupertino's slate is also changing the way we take notes and organize our lives. In no situation is this fact more apparent than in the day-to-day life of Bollywood choreographer Feroz Khan, who now utilizes a single iPad Air for most of his work when, not so long ago, he would have to drag several items around with him in order to do his job properly.
The iPhone and iPad are among the mobile industry's sturdiest exports, but it's not without its fair share of issues. The sleep/wake button, for example, which sits atop the device, is susceptible to breaking, sticking, or just generally ceasing to function. If you encounter this issue, then the only option is to go either try your hand at fixing it, or taking the sensible option of getting it repaired, by Apple. But if you don't have the time or immediate funds to take a whimsical trip to an Apple Store, then here's how you can still utilize the button's functions even when it's MIA.
You may remember that not too long ago now we told you about Winocm and how he had managed to dual boot his iPad 2 with iOS 6 and iOS 5. In fact, he was so sure that people probably wouldn't believe that he'd done it, he released a video on YouTube showcasing the feat. He even went so far as to release a further video showing that the same iPad 2 could also be forced to triple boot, with iOS 7 thrown into the mix. We're not really sure that the word 'impressive' does any of that justice.
In between the major upgrades to its iOS device roster, Apple often quietly pushes refreshed hardware, tweaking a certain fault or improving overall efficiency or performance. Today's iOS 7.1 update appears to indicate that the iPad range has been subject to one or two subtle alterations, with the list of devices compatible with the new firmware revealing two new unidentified iPad device numbers. iOS 7.1 for iPads 4,3 and 4,6 - neither of which have been announced by Apple - suggest that the Cupertino has been doing a little hardware-based housekeeping, but since no announcement was made, any changes are probably rudimentary, with no immediately apparent differences.
Having already been well and truly wowed by music producer Savan Kotecha's house featuring $80,000 worth of iPad-controlled gizmos, we thought we'd seen it all as far as a plush, gadget-infused real estate was concerned. However, apparently not, for out in California, a newly-available beach-side mansion completely trumps Kotecha's efforts, with essentially all of the mod-cons within the $22 million house controlled using one of the 15 inter-connected iPads. Check out the snaps of the sprawling residence after the leap!
As the president of the United States, Barack Obama is more than used to having his picture taken. Part of the burden that comes with being among the world's most powerful leaders, he cannot escape the press taking snaps and recording video on his every move. In a more light-hearted environment such as a classroom, though, a busy man like the president gets a rare chance to kick back and enjoy himself, and as you'll see in the clip below, he took full advantage on one visit to a school in Maryland by taking some amusing videos of his personal press team using an Apple iPad.
