We are getting closer and closer to the release of iOS 5 it seems, as Apple has declared that all iTunes Match data on iCloud will be wiped out on September 26th.

According to a new press statement released today, Apple will be resetting iCloud backups on September 22nd to gear up for iOS 5 GM. The news comes from a statement published on Apple’s Developer Board which says that all data backed up by beta-testers on iCloud servers will be reset (i.e. deleted) on September 22nd. No reason has been given for why this is being done, but we have reason to believe that this is an indication that we’ll see the Golden Master release of iOS 5 very soon, perhaps as soon as September 23rd.

Over the last few weeks, we've heard tidbits regarding a possible release timeline for iOS 5, including today, when a report claimed that the system will reach Golden Master status on or around September 23rd. If this wasn't enough evidence, it now turns out that AppleCare employees were told to brace themselves for an increased flux of calls around October 10th.

As Japanese blog Macotakara reports, Chinese manufacturers Foxconn and Pegatron are currently in full flow as they strive to meet the order demands set upon them by Apple. Foxconn is dealing with the vast majority at 85%, whilst Pegatron, which rather ironically sounds like a robot, is taking care of the remaining 15%.

If you're an Apple enthusiast, you've probably been tirelessly attempting to dig up details about the next iPhone, which is rumored to be scheduled for introduction next month.
